We stumbled upon Tra Di Noi in Malibu completely by chance, and it turned out to be one of those rare discoveries that instantly lifts your mood. The location is beautiful: just as we arrived the sun came out, so we decided to sit outside, and the whole atmosphere felt relaxed yet refined, effortless in the best possible way.
We didn’t even know the owner was Italian… but you can truly taste it in every detail of the food.
The tuna tartare was absolutely outstanding, incredibly fresh, perfectly balanced, elegant without being overdone. One of those dishes you wish would never end.
And then came the tonnarelli with tomato sauce. Honestly, I don’t even remember the last time I had a pasta like this, not even in Italy. Pure flavor, total respect for real Italian cuisine, no unnecessary twists, no “Americanized” interpretation. Just quality ingredients, perfect execution, and real passion. That’s extremely rare.
The service was warm and kind, attentive but never intrusive, totally in harmony with the place.
A special mention goes to Alfonso and Edwin, who looked after us with warmth, professionalism, and genuine kindness. Their service made the whole experience even more memorable, truly outstanding.
In short:
this isn’t just a restaurant where you eat well, it’s a place where you genuinely feel good.
And that, to me, is priceless ⭐️
When I think of Tra Di Noi, only one thought comes to mind:
I’ll be back. Happily

This place is a must-visit! The pizza was simply amazing – crispy, fresh, and perfectly topped. And the pasta was pure perfection, cooked just right with incredible flavors. The only tiny hiccup was the Aperol Spritz, which tasted quite different from the traditional Italian ones we’ve had. But honestly, it was a minor detail in an otherwise superb meal. The staff were incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly, making the whole experience delightful.

We went here craving some Italian food after a few hours on Malibu beach. Service was good, it had a nice atmosphere, and the food was delicious. We got the pomodore spaghetti and prosciutto pizza. They took a while to bring out, and the portions were extremely small for the price, but we cannot deny they tasted delicious. Don’t confuse this restaurant with the express take out which was about $20 cheaper. The express closes at 4pm. We wanted some cheap Italian food but got a table and was forced to spend $40+ each on food. We would still recommend the place for the delicious food, but be mindful of the prices and what time it is.

Love this place for a relaxing lunch in Malibu.
We had the tuna tartare, the burrata salad, and the Caesar salad. All great!

A simply terrible experience. I’d like to write a longer review but trying to chew through the uncooked eggplant parm took enough of my energy already.
The service was just as insipid. The wait staff were gracious enough to allow us an extended wait time for the check, allowing us to reflect on how terrible the experience was. Was surprised by the protracted wait given the lack of diners at primetime on a Saturday night, but the vacancy was illustrated by the above.

Beautiful outdoor patio. Unfortunately, there’s a kids’ park right in front of it, so that can get annoying at times. The tuna tartar was delicious. A bit on the creamy side with a vinegar tang mixed w tomatoes and cucumber, very refreshing, and I liked how theirs is totally different than others I’ve had. My friend got the linguine w clams. Fresh clams in a light wine sauce. She really enjoyed it. I got the vegetable risotto w chicken added to it. They add as much grated cheese as you’d like tableside, so mine had 3 scoops. I did find the dish bland, so I did add s/p a few times. Very hands-on service. A must if you’re in the area

It’s a cozy restaurant. They are really kind and we had a fast service. The food was amazing. If you go please try the Fusili Del Posto. So nice. Seems like home food.

Absolutely the best. We’ve been coming here for years, and the food is always phenomenal. I love their margherita pizza. Super simple, and delicious. Patio dining for lunch, inside for dinners is what I’d recommend.

We were in the area and decided to have an early dinner, so we decided to try this place and sat in the outside patio area. Everyone was pleasant and attentive from the hostess to the waiters. Good wine selection and the prosciutto pizza was great! Would happily return.

I got the gnocchi! Cesar hooked it up super fast. It only took 5 minutes, very hot. Delicious and yummy, I appreciate the hospitality and the beauty of the restaurant. Thank you so much for your time.
