Toyar serves solid food. The Chinese skewers hit the spot and reminded me of being back in deep Northeast China, where street smoke and spice fill the air and everything tastes like it came straight off a charcoal dream. The large lamb skewers and squid skewers were especially good, well seasoned and a little on the sweeter side, but still easy on the palate.
Not everything on the menu feels worth the splurge. Ten dollars for a single grilled oyster feels like a luxury experiment gone wrong, but if you know what to order, you can definitely eat well without emptying your wallet.
If I could change one thing, I’d ask for extra seasoning on the side. It would be nice to tweak the flavor and get that perfect balance of spice and salt that Chinese skewers are all about. Still, skewers are skewers, and having them beats not having them any day.
Ordering was impressively easy. A quick QR scan and food appeared like magic. I appreciate the minimal small talk required.
All in all, I think I enjoyed the food. And yes, I’ll be back for another taste of that Northeastern nostalgia.

Beef skewers definitely the No.1 even compared with authentic BBQ back to China. Enoki mushrooms with clams has a good taste with generous clams. Others might be a bit average, especially don’t like the sour and sweet fried pork, way off the authentic flavor.

This is my new favorite place! The food is very authentic and it reminds me of the time I spent living in China. The锅包肉 aka sweet and sour pork is as good as anything I’ve had in China, and the large lamb skewers are on point. My wife is also Chinese and loves this place, especially the cold noodles. We had a great experience at this BBQ spot. The lamb ribs were incredibly flavorful—perfectly grilled with a nice balance of spice and tenderness, and served on a generous bed of lettuce. Everything was well-seasoned and juicy, especially the rib meat that fell right off the bone. Jing, our server, was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving good BBQ and warm service.
