Took my daughter for her birthday. The service was great, and the food was tasty. Our waitress even stopped to help my daughter with the chopsticks. Just give a fork so I don’t starve. Would suggest for a good meal. Was told the sushi was very good.

We loved this place. The food was great and the service was good. It is a small space, but they fit our group of 6 in. The only sushi we had this time was California roll, and it was tasty. We all ordered hibachi dinners and everyone really enjoyed their meal. We will go back and try the sushi for sure. Can’t wait to eat here again.

Although a small restaurant, their food & staff are excellent! Very attentive and friendly.

Our family visits the Outer Banks every summer, and each year one of the highlights is eating at Toyama. This is some of the best sushi I’ve ever eaten. Definitely worth the drive if you love sushi and are visiting OBX.

We had a nice experience at Toyama Japanese Restaurant. Great service with good recommendations for first time visitors. Sushi was fresh and larger than expected. Rolls were great. Would eat here again!

What a pleasant find! Small restaurant with fresh sushi. Staff is pleasant and attentive. Ate here for lunch and dinner. Both were delicious. Nice assortment of beer options.

The only negative I have to offer is their pricing. But if you’re in Elizabeth city with only 2 sushi places to choose from, perhaps the extra expense of Toyama is worth it. It is very good and notably superior to their competition. But the competition offers a similar sushi dinner for I think about 7 or 8 bucks cheaper……*update…. ate here w my son for Father’s day and the waiter, a young Asian kid, brings me less than half a cup of miso soup….I love miso soup. When I asked he fill the cup (which I shouldn’t have had to) he wouldn’t! I ordered the $25.99 sushi deluxe and couldn’t get the actual bowl of the soup it comes with (prob worth about $0.17). I’m not going to argue w this kid about soup. I will let my patronage do the talking. When we had our drinks refilled I did in a snotty tone ask him if the drinks can be filled up or do we only get half.

Fist time trying sushi, and I’ve gone back 3 days a week since. The staff was very helpful in helping me to pick out what to try first, and we never felt rushed to order. My 6-year-old son even loves it!

Our visit on Sunday was our first visit. I’ve always heard good things about this place and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. It was very delicious and I would believe that we would be back.
