I grew up on this spot but I will not be back. This is what I received for my Hibachi Steak.. it isn’t seasoned, doesn’t have the Zucchini/broccoli… and is cold. This is a SHAME! this plate was $15 and I wouldn’t have paid a dime had I known what I was getting.
I got there 30 mins before close, not 5 or 10. And they had prepped veggies on the counter so I was under the impression that they wouldn’t mind my order. Save your money!!!

I used to frequent this spot a few years ago and it was very good. It doesn’t seem to be the same. The prices have gone up and the food has gotten worse. I ordered the chicken and shrimp combination. The shirmp, mushroom and rice was very good. The chicken was horrendous. I’ve never had dryer and less seasoned chicken. Very dull with no taste. 2 stars because the rest of the food was subpar but definitely not as good as it used to be.

The food here is really good, but the last two times I ate early in the day, my throat became swollen afterward. I’ve eaten here several times before and never had this issue. I’m not sure if something has changed in what they cook the food in, but recently my experience hasn’t been the best.

Should have looked at the reviews prior to coming here. You basically get more rice than anything else and the chicken is dry. The portions are so small, you’re better off going to a fast food spot. Workers are nice but unfortunately for the flavor (lacking) and portions (small aside from rice cause that’s 95% of the plate) not worth it.

One of my favorite spots to hit when I’m back home in Charlotte. I grabbed the hibachi chicken with the veggie medley yesterday and it was so fresh and flavorful. Added an extra shrimp sauce (didn’t even need it, but no regrets).
The whole meal was under $20 and hit every mark—comforting, tasty, and fast. Toyama never misses.

The food was amazing. My boys had told me to check this place out when I moved here about a month ago and the service was exceptional. I want to give a special shoutout to the front girl named Hazel. She has been working there for a while now and is always sweet. Please be nice to her and tip her! Highly recommend. Hazel you’re amazing. Raise her hourly to $1000/hr ASAP

We ordered 2 Shrimp & Broccoli meals. The shrimp smelled horrible the moment we opened up the to-go container. I called to informed them and they asked if I wanted them to re-do it. I said “no.” The guy who I was talking to on the phone hung up in my ear. I took it back & the guy with the black hat on (I’m sure it was the same one who answered the phone) didn’t even apologize about the meal. Didn’t even acknowledge the fact that the shrimp was bad.

Let’s just say this wasn’t a great experience and I probably won’t return. Ordered steak hibachi and wanted mushrooms for my veggie. They gave me broccoli instead of mushrooms and when I told them this they wouldn’t fix it. They said since she repeated my order and I didn’t say anything I can purchase a side of mushrooms. Unfortunately I didn’t understand everything she said cuz of the very thick accent… Soup was ok you did have to pay for the extra shrimp sauce. Definitely overpriced for the quality.

This place used to be really good however it certainly took a tanker ordered food and drove 20 minutes each direction to pick it up. Been going here since college tipped six dollars on it to go order. Got all the way home to have the complete wrong order called and management said they would take care of everything. Unfortunately they didn’t seem to Honor their agreement to reimburse me for the original food then wanted to charge me extra to replace my original order with the correct one. A mere $1.75 and they just lost a customer of 10 years go elsewhere their customer service is wack!

The floors are sticky. The food is really, really bland, and the chicken is chewy. They didn’t even make good fried rice. I guess if you like food that tastes worse than what you can make at home, then this is perfect.
