The truth to be told—Townline BBQ in Sagaponack is nothing short of a smoky, savory revelation. From the moment you step onto the property, you’re greeted by the irresistible aroma of slow-smoked meats that sets the tone for what’s to come. Their brisket? A masterpiece. Tender, juicy, and infused with just the right amount of smoke, it melts in your mouth and lingers in your memory.

But it’s not just the food that makes this place unforgettable. The entire atmosphere is steeped in rustic charm, with a laid-back vibe that invites you to kick back, relax, and savor every bite. The outdoor seating offers sweeping views of the Hamptons countryside, making it the perfect backdrop for a leisurely meal with friends or family.

And oh, that smoky scent—so rich and comforting, I genuinely wished it would cling to my clothes forever, like a souvenir from a perfect day. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t just serve food; it serves an experience. One that stays with you long after the last bite.

A lifetime experience? Absolutely. I highly recommend Townline BBQ to anyone who appreciates authentic barbecue, warm hospitality, and the kind of ambiance that makes you feel right at home.

Found this little gem on the drive home from montauk, so glad we stopped in! Everything we ordered was top notch, great service and decor, love the bar and fireplace in the back. Highly recommend it!

Texan here. In town for work and was recommended to this BBQ spot by some of the locals. It does not disappoint! The brisket is moist and melts in your mouth, full of flavor! I’m from the home of brisket and this…too good! Will be back, already been twice.

Townline BBQ did not disappoint. The brisket was juicy, packed with flavor, and the smokiness lingered in the best way. The pulled pork was just as impressive—tender, savory, and perfectly seasoned. You can really taste the care that goes into their BBQ. Definitely worth coming back for more

I was visiting from out of state over the weekend and had a very disappointing experience. I was denied service because I didn’t correctly answer a question about my ID, despite being well over 21. Not only was I refused service, but the bartender also turned away my entire party.

The situation felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional in how it was handled. As a group of legal-age, paying customers, we were surprised and disappointed by the treatment we received.

I believe the owner should be aware that this type of interaction is costing the business customers. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this establishment and will not be returning.

Dry as dirt pulled pork, ribs were tender but we think they forgot the rub cuz omg they were sooo bland ! Brisket was ok but also barely had flavor. Corn bread was way over baked and so dry , corn was good. That was literally the ONLY thing that was good. Majorly disappointed. Was def expecting better

Got the brisket, buffalo fries and pulled pork and banana pudfing. Brisket was great! pulled pork was good, buffalo fries were tasty. The banana pudding wasn’t that great. It didn’t really have flavor, and was gritty. Service was super friendly, and food was ready quick. I will definitely go back and try the ribs.

Today we took my daughter’s friend and the rest of the family out to Montauk just to walk around. We do this a couple of times a year.

Montauk was having their music festival which was kind of awesome but unfortunately they had the giant rock wall closed so you couldn’t walk around the lighthouse and get to that little secluded beach. On the way home obviously everybody was hungry so we have been wanting to go to town line barbecue forever.

The last time we went in there my son was about six or seven years old. He cried because they didn’t have chicken tenders so we didn’t get to stay and I’ve hated the boy ever since just kidding.

They have a full bar which was run by the greatest bartender. He takes pride in the drinks he makes and it was definitely evident in the margarita my wife had. I had a founders watermelon beer. I assure you this is not my typical type of beer but it was a hot day and I just wanted something lighter.

Now he eats like a man so I’m kind of happy.

We ordered the family meal which consists of a full rack of St Louis ribs a ton of smoke chicken and I swear a full cornbread.

Exactly how I like a little bit of a bite to them without falling off the bone. They are not soft but have a dry rub on them which is a little spicy but nothing even remotely over the top. There is barbecue sauce on the table but I enjoyed them the way they were. It did come with a side of beans that I think were the best beans I’ve ever eaten.

I didn’t try the chicken because I was enjoying the ribs but the rest of the family said it was great.

We added a quarter of a pound of brisket and I love that they ask you if you want it dry wet or mixed. Dry means no fat wet means lots of fat. We got it wet because there’s something about the fat that just adds so much flavor. My daughter’s friend did not like it but I was proud of her for trying it lol.

We also added roasted cauliflower. I love the cauliflower but no one else really did.

As a surprise my daughter bought me banana pudding because she knows it’s my absolute favorite. With huge chunks of banana and Course nilla wafers it had a great flavor.

On the way out Jillian even offered to show me the smoker. This thing is a monster smoker that rotates and is cooler than what I expected a smoker today. She was a delight to talk to and definitely somebody I will be looking for next time I go.

Everybody in the world knows this place but if you don’t check them out next time you’re coming back it’s right on 27 and townline road in like bridgehampTon.

It’s been a while since I’ve been here, and the dry brisket is amazing! Also the bar is great and all, except the regulars mumbling racist slurs; they were obviously people who were there often enough to know the staff. Anyway, if you want to hang with that, I would definitely recommend this place. Otherwise maybe get it to go?
