Worst Dumplings Ever – Don’t Waste Your Money
I really regret ordered 100+ dollars food from this place. They just don’t know about making dumplings. The dumplings were awful — the filling was a weird mix of bland ingredients that didn’t taste like anything it should be and not fresh at all. It was as if they didn’t put correct ingredients together and without any thought for flavor. We could barely finish one bite before throw them away.
To make matters worse, the dishes didn’t even match their names. I ordered “xie ke huang,” supposed to be some really crunchy cake with nice fillings but what I got was completely off, looks like some frozen beans cakes. All the other dishes the texture was terrible. The chili boil fish looks terrible in a huge tin pan, not many pieces floating in a very diluted sauce water. Looks like someone’s left over.
We ended up throwing away all of the food. Especially after we got some good ones from another place(yuan bao jiao zi) close by. Honestly, it wasn’t even worth trying to salvage. I don’t know what they were thinking, but they clearly have no clue how to make dumplings or other dishes. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you’re looking for decent dumplings, keep looking because this place is a complete fail.

Town of dumpling has a very rustic setting. But I came here for the food. And the food is unadorned but very satisfying. I had the shrimp won ton soup and the serving size could have served two people. The noodles were made in-house and the taste reflected their freshness. In fact, I watched the staff in the kitchen as they made dumplings. Very pleasing to see that.

Very casual restaurant for a quick bite! There are plenty of things to order with pictures shown on the walls/outside the restaurant to help you decide what you want. We ordered Shanghai soup dumplings, pork and shrimp chive dumplings and sesame pancakes with marinated beef. The food came out pretty fast, the sesame pancake with beef was fresh, hot, very tasty. The pancake was flaky and the beef wasn’t drenched in sweet sauce which is a plus for us. We dipped it in the house made hot sauce for a garlicky and HOT bite. The pork and shrimp chive dumplings came out next, it was very hot, had plenty of filling and tasted so good dipped in sauce. Lastly the soup dumplings came out. It didn’t have as much soup as other places but the pork flavor was good, I wouldn’t order it next time— I would stick to their dumplings. We noticed bao buns on the menu and decided to order frozen lamb buns to take home, can’t wait to try it. They also sell frozen dumplings to take home as well. I think this place is cash only but I may be wrong. It is affordable, tasty, and fast service.

The beef pancakes were insane, will be going back for more.
Pancakes and potstickers were so filling, 1 dish would have been enough for me.

We met some friends for dumplings. My favorite was the simple won ton soup, it was filling, broth was good. The wraps for the dumplings are thick and tasty. The one with scallop was a favorite. My friends recommend the stir fry green beans. Service was nice.

They have a pretty big menu, so one can easily come back and not get tired of the food. Normally restaurants that specialize in dumplings have much smaller menus. Portion size is significantly smaller than Blue Sky Cafe and some traditionally pan-fried dishes are deep fried here like the green onion pancake, but otherwise we like it!

Had the spicy beef noodles, green onion pancakes and the pork and spinach dumplings. The pancakes were ok and the dumplings were very good, but the beef soup was tasteless but spicy. It tasted like spicy water and the noodles were like spaghetti noodles. The beef in the noodles were very tender which was good! The star was the dumplings but the skin was thick. It did have good flavors.

Extraordinary. Everything is handmade, literally everything. The sesame pancake with beef is possibly the best thing I’ve ever eaten. The other dim sum dishes are fab too. They do more with pastry dishes so don’t expect siu mai and other classic things, but if you want homemade soup dumplings and pancakes and baked buns this is absolutely the place for you. I can’t wait to come back.

Located in a small shopping square, this place definitely did not disappoint. Definitely has the family run hole in the wall feel.
We got the pig ears, green chives pancake, sour cabbage and pork dumpling, and shrimp, pork and chives dumpling. The pig ears had mostly the taste of soy sauce and sesame oil. It tasted really good with the chili sauce they have on the table. The green chives pancake were really crispy and the skin was very thin. The dumplings tasted pretty authentic and similar to what I’ve had back in northeast China.
In addition to the menu items, they also sell other Chinese food such as frozen dumpling, homemade bao (包子) and zongzi (粽子) to go. I got the salted egg yolk and meat zongzi and can’t wait to try it at home.
Will definitely come back when I have craving for dumplings. Everything we got tasted pretty good, fresh and authentic.

Traditional Chinese dishes made fresh. Small dining room and one restroom in the back. Don’t expect much from modern atmosphere or cleanliness. Food is good with lots of variety. Liked the soup dumplings and noodle soup. On the pricey side for the portion of appetizers. Definitely a place to go with others so you could share some different types of things.
