Warm & Safe
Friendly regulars – pool table purple felt 1$ games. Quarters! Regulars aren’t hogging the table, stepped aside invited us to join in. We had a Very inviting and warm time. Joyful singers for karaoke night. Good PA system. Not too loud but loud enough. My Drink was just right. I had a “skinny margarita”my friend draft beer. I will return to this club.

Intro info-The drinks are reasonably priced, and the bar regulars are pretty cool local folks. The bar is close to restaurants, the Ferry terminal, several art galleries, the Naval Museum, Touro University and Cal Maritime, and a pretty stretch of the Napa River. The bar owners, the bartenders, the barbacks, and the guy checking IDs at the door are fundamentally kind and courteous people. This bar is overall good energy- quieter in the daytime and livelier in the evenings.
Some nights, you have to meet the volume where the volume already is, so check their calendar of events. On some Monday evenings the in-house band, the Townhouse Ramblers, has sessions where the energy is soft and bright, the music is sweet, and distances feel shorter. Karaoke nights, which are every Thursday and Saturday, attract a louder and more frolicsome audience. Karaoke nights are an open chance for finding fun and company of all kinds.
That said- as in all bars, last call is last call, and all typical rules of bar courtesy, conduct, and respect apply. Yes, Townhouse flies the LGBT flag, and the atmosphere has a local, approachable, divey, hometown, down-to-earth, and welcoming vibe that really is open to all. Not everyone who comes here is LGBT, so LGBT folks– feel free to bring your straight friends. If you came once before and the atmosphere didn’t vibe with you, please come again. It was probably just the wrong night–Townhouse is not the wrong bar.
Most everyone, myself included, comes to Townhouse for the people. You will be elbow to elbow with decades-long regulars and young newcomers alike. (A bar’s longevity is directly related to its congeniality, and Townhouse has been on Georgia St. for many years.) The Townhouse regulars come from all walks of life. The diversity that you hear about Vallejo’s population demographics are represented strongly at Townhouse- there is diversity in age, race, ethnicity, gender and sex identities, job type, body type, etc.
The bar community is upbeat, and I have met many bar patrons who intersect with a lot of other Vallejo community groups and organizations. Come meet the neighborhood.
I wasn’t paid to write this, and I definitely wanted to give Townhouse an online review that was honest and genuine to my experience.
My recommendation is to come, and come as you are. And hey, Townhouse has drag performance nights every couple of Saturdays. Tip your queens, folks.

The service was awesome! The crew is really nice and helpful. The prices are pretty reasonable too. I can’t wait to try out their karaoke nights. I haven’t tried the food yet (unsure if they even offer it), so I can’t give an opinion. ♀️

This is a really cool bar! It’s a little cramped, but the community is really fun and the staff is really nice. It’s such a cool little safe, haven for queer people in vallejo.

A Bar with Great Vibes — and One Truly Special Human
This bar has its charm — good music, solid drinks, fun crowd — but what really makes it special is Jay. He’s the heart and soul of this place. People come and go, but Jay is the constant — the friendly face that makes everyone feel welcome and seen.
He’s warmhearted, kind, and genuinely loved by everyone. Honestly, he’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back — even if it means a long commute. His presence brings this place to life.

This is far more than the ONLY gay bar in the county. it is also a very accepting community bar, with ongoing weekly live music, performances, and Karaoke. I’ve only been going for a month or so, but I’ve met some delightful people. The staff are super friendly and will make you whatever they can. One day this month, I invented a drink. Pineapple juice and vodka with a slice of orange and grenadine dripping down the side of the glass where the orange slice is. They made my “bloody ear,” with panache! It’s also one of the most reasonable bars in town, with well drinks currently at $7. Make sure to make up the difference of what you’d spend elsewhere by TIPPING THE STAFF WELL! They are a community treasure we need to keep.
