I was there a couple of nights ago with my friends. Owner was put out that we hadn’t made a reservation – we didn’t know you had to. He seated us and gave us menus and the list of specials. The menu states no separate checks for parties of 6 or more (there were 5 of us – we were told the waitresses are only allowed “to use one piece of paper per table” – the owner later told us it is too hard to separate checks- my friend said then you should update your menu) and the specials were the same price as listed in the menu (my friend asked about that – owner said they were specials and was visibly put off by my friends questions – I would guess that they are “signature” dishes).

We have been going to this place for years the quality of the food has been going down in the last year a few weeks ago the pork chops were very dry. Tonight my husbands steak was inedible it was like a big hunk of rubber there was no way to even cut it. We showed the waitress and she took it away she said she would take it off the bill. We always pay cash because you get a coupon for a free appetizer on your next visit. The waitress never came back with our coupon after about ten minutes I went to look for her I saw the owner and asked him about it. He said “ I already paid for your husbands dinner you don’t get a coupon” !! We used to love this place but it has really gone down hill with quality and friendliness.

My family has been coming to Towne Club for 60 years. I no longer live in the area but enjoy eating there when I visit since they have the best shrimp dinner, well used to. The extraordinary shrimp has changed and it is now just ordinary. The 3 bean salad was vinegar based and delicious, it also has changed!! Tastes like sugar has been added. So disappointed!! Whomever made these changes, IT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE and after all these years, I will never return. SHAME!!

Very extensive menu, never had a bad meal here yet. I had the walleye special and my wife had the fried shrimp, both were very good. I also had the potato soup, very tasty. The charged prime rib is very good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I thought I would give this local restaurant a try as it was a favorite of my parents years ago, and I love supporting local independent businesses. Long story short, I was disappointed. Despite the menu stating all fish is fresh, the waitress said the cod is frozen. Therefore, I ordered the steak sandwich instead. It was fair. No garlic bread on sandwich as stated on menu, only dry french bread. Vegetables were soggy and overly salty/ seasoned. Sweet potato chips were dry. Baked potato was small. Bread brought with relish was cold.

The ambiance was quaint, and the food was good. We went for lunch and I had the Cheese Squares as an appetizer. They were delicious as was the beefy noodle soup. The steak sandwich was good. It came with sweet potato chips which was served with melted butter and brown sugar and was good! I’m going to go back for dinner and try the prime rib which is what they are known for.

Lovely supper club in the old style. Loved the atmosphere, small and cozy, and I’ve always been a huge fan of the relish tray. I had the 8 ounce filet rare and it was cooked to perfection. Cream of potato soup was to die for. My date had the prime rib and unfortunately it was not good. More like an end cut and overdone (we did arrive 30 minutes before closing). Unfortunately, my date was rude to the poor waitress, who was absolutely wonderful and gracious and took the prime rib off the bill immediately, offered any number of optional menu items (all free) and coupons for future visits. The service was off the charts outstanding. My date was a jackass. I’ll be coming back again. With someone else. This place is a gem.
