Reviews
Our daughter suggested we drive from Birmingham to Franklin by way of the 31 for the fall colors and cute little towns.
We stopped at Town and Country just because it looked like a great home style local restaurant, with huge pots of autumn colored mums and pumpkins out front.
We got a hearty Southern welcome from the owner who looked so pleased to see us even though it was 20 minutes before closing. She explained the specials and then our server came over and did a fabulous job taking our orders, explaining the sides, and training other trainees. All the staff were very sweet and had excellent people skills.
The food was wonderful! (See photos.) I highly recommend you try their Sunday Plate Lunch special!!! Their Chicken N Dressing is delectable chicken, gravy, cornbread, hard boiled eggs and onions covered in more gravy. Real comfort food!!! You also get a portion of juicy ham and two sides. My husband loved the green beans, which had a slightly sweet kick to them. On top of all this you get dessert and today it was chocolate cake, which was moist and dense, with homemade frosting, definitely from scratch.
I complimented the owner on her success and she smiled and said they’ve only been open 7 months. They’d already been voted Best Soul Food 2022 locally.
I wish we lived here because we’d definitely eat here every Sunday. The rest of the menu (see photos) looks amazing as well. She said she had opened another restaurant in Arab (AY-rab) which was a success, I gather.
So if you’re ever on the area do yourself a favor and stop by here.
Horrible hamburger steak owner spoke down to myself and husband won’t be going back. Went to pay and was told even though I didn’t eat and server removed from table I still had to pay for it. Husband had club and let’s just say he too wasn’t impressed with his sandwich. Very disappointed because we were looking forward to a new place to dine! Spoke with Jaime the manager she was nice but said owner said had to pay for something we didn’t even consume! Well hope that $25 was worth a lifetime of no business from us and all our co workers and friends I plan on telling!
I understand a new business and working the kinks out but the way we were spoken to never again….I think the hamburger steak is what they use to make dog food out of….wait maybe dog food is better because dogs will eat it! Just saying! GE friends y’all asked Mark and we tried it and well here is our review!
