Friendly and helpful cashier(waitress). Hot and spicy chicken sandwich (not too hot) was pretty good (fries extra). The mule cocktail was also refreshing
It did took me a few times to understand how to use the card tho, a bit more of explanation from staff would have been helpful. Food was ok. Hard to find parking around!
I had the wings with hot sauce and tater tots. The wings were HOT, somewhat spicy, salty and delicious! I only got six wings because I am trying to watch my figure. But….it would be easy to go overboard and eat 3 times that many.
It’s a tap room so they have plenty of different beers to try out. Though I am not a fruity beer person, the peach beer reminds me of a cider. It went very well with the wings. Next up was a porter called Dos Perros which surprisingly I liked became I’m more of a lager or pilsner person. This porter went down smooth with no bitterness.
Atmosphere was great but a little loud due to a large group getting louder the more lubricated they got. This place is located in a very cool area downtown near the river and Union Station
If you are in Montgomery, give them a try. I seriously doubt you will be disappointed.
Ok so now the cons: so the price per oz on the beers equates to about $8-$10 per glass on the moderate ABV% beers, and even higher for higher ABV% beers which is a bit high. I had 2 glasses and it ran me $20. The other thing that was disappointing to me was the lack of options. So I’ve been visiting Montgomery for the last 2 weeks, and the one thing that I have thoroughly enjoyed about every downtown bar that I’ve visited is there robust selections of locally brewed (Alabama) beers. This was not the case at Tower Taproom (at least on the day I was there). I there were more of the national brands (Golden Monkey, Michelob,etc..). I would have loved to come to a spot like this and have had mainly (or at least majority) local brews. Finally, the other local bars, that serve more local beers, do so for aboht $5-$7 per glass.
I’m not a drinker but if you like beer on tap this place has you covered 57 times!!
