I’ve been there a few times and the food is always delicious. Since it’s seafood, the prices are a bit more expensive but I think that it is worth it. If you order a bento box, you are definitely getting your money’s worth.
There is usually little to no wait time for dining in. The staff is very friendly and food comes out in a good amount of time.
I would definitely recommend!

I truly recommend this place!
I ordered a fried pork (Tonkatsu), the portion was HUGE, and it was accompanied by rice and miso soup. Even can’t finish by myself! It’s flavor is authentic, very authentic Japanese food. Way better than other japanese restaurants.
The decoration is also warm and japanese-style, with wood tables and floors, there are some anime characters on the wall

Great place for Japanese Cuisine in Ann Arbor. Was looking out for vegetarian rolls in maps and across Totoro. Plenty of vegetarian options. But not only that, they have diverse options some of which I have seen nowhere. Our waitress was super respectful about our dietary restrictions, recommended the plates by herself, warned if something like veg but was not and made sure that they are followed. Something that I have rarely experienced at Japanese restaurants. Loved the place and overall experience.

Truly delicious and authentic Japanese dishes. Plenty of vegetarian options. Ingredients were fresh and all prices were reasonable. In the middle of a college town, so expect mostly young people there. The place is tucked into the split bottom floor of the building which makes it more for casual dining than formal. Will go back.

Cute little sushi restaurant with an open area where you can watch the sushi being prepared. Everything I’ve tried from here has been fresh and delicious. Great pricing for a sushi place in Ann Arbor also.

I visited Totoro very shortly after their opening in the morning and was immediately struck by the beautiful atmosphere! Totoro is proud of it’s Ghibli inspiration, with the walls lined with My Neighbor Totoro memoribillia. It was peaceful and had soft music playing over their speakers. The bentos and rice bowl options were diverse, well priced, and good serving sizes but the sushi menu I felt was a little lacking. Especially with the themeing of the location I expected some themed dishes. Service was a little slower than some other spots in the area but like I mentioned they had just opened so I can excuse that. They were still doing prep work when I came in so I saw them bringing out raw fish, etc and their ingredients are very fresh!

One of my favorite sushi spots in Ann Arbor for sure! I’m always here with friends and family and everything is really good. Some servers do struggle with quality of service while others are truly phenomenal.

Lovely sushi restaurant. The pricing is alright, but it’s very yummy! Portion sizes are comparable to other sushi/Japanese restaurants in downtown Ann Arbor. I’d recommend trying it out if you like sushi. The staff was very kind. It’s a bit crowded for seating, especially if the room is full, but other than that no complaints!

This place makes me sad i dont live in Ann Arbor! I ordered take out. Bento box and sushi. My son had a couple bowls of miso while we waited. The waitress was so nice and patient. I wasnt able to eat the food right away. It was still so delicious cold. Wish i had time to go back before i go home.

The cutest little (actually big inside) restaurant, which has taken their name and theme very seriously.. It is Totoro all the way and yummy food! The takoyaki was amazing 🙂
