Toshi’s is the original “OG” Teriyaki as envisioned by Toshi himself. Everything is as it should be, tender grilled chicken with just a slight char, a bed of sticky rice, and side salad. The sauce is perfect. I find it is the perfect level of sweetness and they do not completely drench the chicken with it like other Teriyaki restaurants. I found their prices very reasonable in 2025 as of this review. Two chicken teriyaki specials cost me about $25 which included Gyoza. Seating is limited.

So many people & Seattle YouTube influencers (ahem…Kenji Lopez-Alt ) have recommended Toshi’s Teriyaki and as a teriyaki virgin, I had to give them a try. This was my first teriyaki and it was outstanding.
First, the chunks were bitesize which meant every piece was perfectly seasoned and had that nice caramelization on every bite. I’ve seen other photos of teriyaki that just looked like big hunks of flabby chicken with some teriyaki sauce dumped on it which did not look appetizing at all, and frankly, something I can do myself at home. The seasoning is phenomenal and infused throughout every bite. The spiciness was just right. Not too much, not too little. And it was moist without it being too loose and saucy.
Then there’s the generous portions. OMG! I had teriyaki for 3-4 meals from this one order. Amazing value. I would go here again and again. This made my first experience fantastic and has set the bar high for other teriyaki experiences.

My family has been going to Toshi’s for over 35 years. I moved to Spokane about 20 years ago, and EVERY TIME I come back to visit, I have to have it!! Teriyaki just isn’t the same anywhere else, no matter where we go! I swear this last time was THE BEST I’ve ever had!! Maybe it was the long anticipated wait for it, or that I had the best company of my little brother to share it with, or that the weather was so incredible that we took our dinner to go and sat on the beach and ate, just like when we were kids…
Thank you, Toshi’s, for being a wonderful core memory and for always providing such a consistently delicious experience!! ❤️

Teriyaki chicken was tender and moist, with a light sauce that adds flavor.
I love the cabbage salad because they soak it for a whole day in a sweet vinegar solution that makes the cabbage delightful to eat.

Take out only so no comment on ‘atmosphere’ but absolutely delicious food! Large portions, prepared quickly. Has quickly become a favorite. Food was ready when promised, and still warm when we got it home. Wonderful taste! Will definitely try again. Chicken teriyaki was marvelous. So was the veggies and chicken. Hope to try the beef teriyaki next time!

Favorite local Teriyaki place. So good.
Family owned. Not a sit-down place, though there are a few seats.
Large portions, good prices.

We drove here from Redmond in search of a good plate of tofu teriyaki at a decent price, and were extremely glad we came here. The tofu is a high quality katsu style cutlet made in house and fresh to order. The default comes with sauteed veg. The teriyaki sauce was light but flavorful. I didn’t verify, but I don’t see why the plate wouldn’t be vegan.
Delicious, excellent price, and made to order. We will be coming here for all future teriyaki needs!

Great spot!
I had to get the chicken and salmon teriyaki to try two things.
The chicken katsu and spicy chicken looked tempting too, but I didn’t get to it this time.
The salmon was flakey, the sauce was delicious, and the white rice was perfectly sticky.
The chicken teriyaki was awesome too, though I expect the chicken katsu to be even better.

The teriyaki chicken is amazing and it includes a salad I will actually eat. I expected a long wait because it was lunch time but my order was ready within a few minutes. The cashier was very friendly too.

We had a T3 (chicken breast teriyaki) and a Y1 (vegetable yakisoba). Enough for leftovers too. Good quality food, and great quantity for the price. With a constant stream of phone orders and people coming in to pick up orders, took about 10 to 15 minutes to get our food which was obviously all made fresh. This will become a new regular place for us.
