Never had Chicago Style pizza before but I don’t want it any other way now. This place is great! The pizza was off the chain! We will definitely make this a regular spot. Enjoyed I could have a beer at the bar while waiting for the pizza to be done. Worth it.

Enjoyed my lunch at Tortugas near Regions Field in Birmingham. Felt tucked away but had a steady stream of people coming in. Staff was all very nice from the young man at the front desk to the guys behind the bar. The Chicago style deep dish pizza slice came out in a short time and was very good, just wished the sauce had a more robust flavor. They are obviously known for pizza, so who am I to complain. The crust was perfect and folks one slice will fill you up. Worth the stop in for sure.

My family and I dined at Turtugas before a Barons baseball game, and we couldn’t have been more pleased!
Our server was knowledgeable about both the food and the beer, and she helped my daughter search the “license plate walls” for one from Tennessee.
We wanted to try both the deep-dish and the Chicago thin style pizza, and were pleased to discover that we could order both “by the slice”. The slices are huge, and I’m happy to report that both were perfectly traditional and absolutely delicious!
Great beer selection, too.
We’ll definitely be making Tortugas a must-visit any time we’re in town!

Absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food exceeded expectations. The pizza was perfectly cooked with a flavorful, well-balanced sauce and a crust that hit the sweet spot between crispy and chewy. Every bite was delicious. This was my 1st time trying this establishment. The host was very friendly and helpful by providing information in ordering pizza. It took about 45 to 50 minutes to receive the order, but it was definitely worth the wait. The pizza was hot and I enjoyed it. I’ve never had the Chicago style pizza, and it was delicious. The toppings inside the pizza . I would highly recommend this place. The only negative was the crust, It was very tough. I ordered the bbq/Carne pizza.
