Food was great but the service and atmosphere were even better. It felt like a swanky jazz club with leather seating and all. Our server was playful and enthusiastic and did not hesitate to bring us dessert for our anniversary celebration. Nice customer service with an attentive wait staff. Patio is near a bustling street, but you can dine inside. Decent Oysters & cocktail shrimps. Yummy buttery cheese bread. Grapefruit Basil Martini & Guava Margarita is a must try.

Went to the Tortoise as a culmination to our week celebrating our anniversary. Made reservations for an early dinner and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the the food and cocktails . The best was the steak with the cognac peppercorn sauce.

Atmosphere atmosphere atmosphere! I love the supper clubs in Milwaukee and Los Angeles but Tortoise captures the chic elegance and terrific food coupled with a community feel perfectly. The wait staff left some to be desired, but the prime rib and the grasshopper drink were excellent.

We were walking along the Riverwalk, and happened along this beautiful gem of a supper club. We walked in and met the special events manager Kelli V. who not only assisted us in securing our reservations, but also gave us recommendations for other fun spots! Chantay (sp?) is a phenomenal mixologist and we greatly enjoyed the live jazz!
