WHY ARE YOU SLEEPING ON THIS???? It was so good. I ordered Fajita Taco plate with corn tortillas and with double beans (I’m not crazy about rice, but I’m sure theirs is fantastic), and the adorable waitress brought me chips and salsa. OMG. So good. The entire experience was fantastic. The place itself is so cute. Then she brought out a fresh hot flour tortilla for me to try. It was amazing. Go. You’ll love it!

DELICIOUS FOOD! This place is literally a hidden gem. Everything we tried was delicious! Fresh tortillas, menudo, tacos, horchata… YUM! It was all amazing! The atmosphere is really cool too! It’s an old diner and they do karaoke! Sweet employees as well! Definitely a new favorite for me and my family! Give this place a try!

Wanted to try a new place and the reviews were great. The food is A+ authentic mexican, not tex-mex. But, they tried to gaslight me by changing my order. My daughter ordered birria quesadilla($13.99) add beans and rice. What she got was Birria plate($18.99) no quesadilla. I ordered taco plate($12.99) was correct. My drink was agua piña, my daughter ask for a lemonade. I should have known something was wrong when half the menu had prices and the other half no prices. I also ordered 1 sopes. So when my bill came to $50 after tax and questioned our server she said “when she asked for beans and rice I just made it a plate”, But that’s not what she ordered. We never received forlk and knife(for the sopes and birria)just big spoons. So they changed my order completely and charged me whatever price they wanted. The food was fantastic! The drink had a full cup of ice for $4.99 no refill which is normal but never said they only serve agua fruta when she ordered a lemonade. Bottle line is they aren’t transparent and have sneaky practices and bad service. For that I can’t recommend and if you go ask the price before you order, make sure they bring you what you ordered and beware of the drinks.

El Molinito in Rowlett is amazing. Great food. Great service. Their Gorditas are especially good here. And homemade chips and tortillas…the best. A must come if you’re in Rowlett.

Normally I don’t visit places with bad reviews. However I made an exception today. I’m super glad I did.
The staff was very friendly and kind. Only one lady was taking orders and serving, even though she had 6 tables she was hustling and did amazing job. Not once did I felt forgotten.
Food was delicious she recommended Gordita de Chicharrón prensado en salsa verde even offered to change if I didn’t like it. I LOVED IT.
Pozole was my main dish and it was absolutely mouth watering came out HOT, full of flavor and tasted like my mom made it maybe better just don’t tell her I said that. Lol
This place is great.
They only being open for 2 month so some of the bad reviews are understandable.
P.S. this is an authentic MEXICAN FOOD RESTAURANT. Do not expect to come here and have Tex Mex experience. That won’t happen here.

1st time coming in on 7/19 with my mom to taste their Gordita’s and I was very impressed by the flavor of the barbacoa con queso, and the chicharrón was AMAZING with the hand made gorditas. The chips they provide are super crunchy and crispy and the salsa is a safe but good one just needed a little more spice. There was a bit of a wait but I was happy that the atmosphere, service, and food made it all worthy it. Please be kind to the restaurant staff and give them grace because they truly work with their heart on their sleeve. I’m happy to see a real authentic Mexican restaurant.

I highly recommend this place for pretty much whatever they offer. Everything we’ve tried has been great from the nopales to the chicharon or barbacoa tacos. Their corn and flour tortillas are handmade and really good.
This place has a 50s diner theme and good music playing. They’re tucked away in a strip mall behind Subway.

If you’re looking for for great food please give this place a try the atmosphere is old style 50s look the food is very good. They do sell delicious tamales and meats by the pound. Their sweet bread is made in house and it’s better than I’ve tasted throughout Garland and Rowlett. I have looked for great quality tortillas especially flour and this place has the best. The corn tortillas are amazing as well. Again, please try this place. I guarantee you’ll be happy.

Over all atmosphere was very nostalgic, has 50’s dinner vibes. We had the menudo, huevos rancheros plate, 2 flour tacos, and 2 Mexican bottled cokes. Food was good although over priced. My rice and beans were cold and didn’t come with a side of tortillas like most restaurants. If I’m paying 13.99 for that plate it should be at least warm. Menudo was actually delicious! Except the fact that it was a really small bowl for $14.99 and the bottled cokes were $4 each! While we do speak Spanish the wait staff did not speak English (which is important is the Rowlett area its located at) when we had questions on the menu she was unaware and seemed confused. This place has high potential with minor adjustments.

A 1 star is too high for this place. Went there with my family at 2pm. Wanted birria tacos. Was told it’s not ready. Then asked for the red pozole off the menu, was told they dont have it. Asked for a taco plate with picadillo tacos and a chili relleno. The other 3 people in our group also order taco plates and we order rice and beans with a side of picadillo for the toddler. They bring chips. They are over cooked and cold. They bring out 2 taco plates and the chili relleno. Chili relleno drenched in some red sauce Then, they say they are out of picadillo. Great, what do they have??? We wait about 10 minutes longer and still have not received 2 of the taco plates or the toddlers food. At this point the food we did receive is cold as we are not going to eat without my grandson having his food. We tell them we just want to leave. They ring us up. $76. Charge us for a Mexican coke that we didn’t have. We ask for the rest of the food. They reply “oh you want it”. Well, if we are going to pay for it, yes we want it. They bag up 2 taco plates. We pay and give it to a homeless man that is outside. After leaving, we felt bad for even giving it to him as it looked horrible. $76 for food we never ate. No apology. Nothing. Disappointing as we have talked about trying this place for months. I honestly do not know how they are still open. If you’re thinking about trying them, save yourself the trouble. We left and went to the shell station where the food and service was great.
