We walked in around 5:30 pm on a Thursday, and it was quite busy. Also, very very loud! We were seated immediately though and the staff was very pleasant and friendly. Turns out they have all you can eat tacos till 6pm which explains the crowd ( the place was completely empty by 6:20).
We ordered the crab nachos as an appetizer – it had a good amount of crab meat, but it was just chips, cheese and crab meat. For the price, we had expected more toppings.
The kids chicken tenders and fries were awesome! It looked like an entire chicken breast of meat between the three large tenders, and they lived up to their name by being incredibly tender! My kid (not an avid meat eater) practically inhaled all of them.
I ordered the quesadilla with chicken, black beans, cheese and salsa. It was large and generously stuffed. The Spanish rice side dish was flavorful with some pieces of corn that complimented it well.
We will definitely come back here to eat ( but maybe when they don’t have their all you can eat tacos) 😉

We’ll definitely pass on this place when we’re back in Avalon. Our large group ordered a variety of items and no one was impressed by the food other than the salsa (very good).

I ordered a Chili Relleno, chicken enchilada and a beef tamale. The relleno was disgusting, simply a blob of cheese with no “chili”. The tamale wasn’t terrible, but not overwhelmingly great either.

The chicken enchilada was a whole different story. The chicken inside was bar none the most terrible chicken I have ever tasted in my life. I’ve never had chicken from a can before, but this is what I imagine it tasted like. Zero flavor, oddly dense, and very chewy. Two bites was all I could handle. There is nothing about it that made me think “this is chicken”.

Service was ok and the staff seemed friendly. All in all, for what it is definitely not worth the money and definitely not returning. The salsa is the only reason I am giving anything over one star….. and that’s a stretch.

Awesome!! Loved the open face shrimp and scallop taco I got. Never had one in that style before but would definitely recommend.

My friends and I went for a celebratory last dinner of the summer before our lease was up and this was definitely the place to do it!! The strawberry margaritas were so good while the chips and salsa were addicting. Our waitress Sue was SO nice and accommodating, we loved her!!!! We are all servers and are used to mediocre service throughout restaurants, sue exceeded all of our expections with a kind and welcoming face. All of our food was delicious with large portions (enough to take home for leftovers). We will definitely be back !!!

Went last night and it was delicious! I got cheese enchiladas in ranchero sauce and they were so good! My dad got pork tamales and I tried a bite…so good! My son got steak fajitas and I tried a bite…so good! My niece got the shrimp tacos, sister got the Mexican chopped salad with chicken, and mom got the fish taco and they all enjoyed their dinners very much too! (I didn’t try theirs because generally I swim with my friends in the ocean…I don’t eat them. And I was not feeling like a salad…pandemic was too long to not have fun last night!)
Our server was an absolute pro, and I really mean that. And not just because she kept the complimentary chips and salsa flowing. The restaurant is a cute little place inside too btw.

If you are in Avalon, try this place!

(Little disclaimer…I don’t think they serve alcohol.)

I have always enjoyed dining here as the food is delicious, served quickly, and the portions are large. I don’t really care as to how “authentic” the food is only that it makes a nice break from the seafood, steak, and pasta that you normally encounter. My only suggestion is to definitely try the fry bread!! I had never had it before I ate here.

We drove 200 miles to have the Navajo Tacos. Worth it! My wife is a transplant from out west and we haven’t had the greatest luck finding good mexican food. Tortilla Flats nailed the Navajo Tacos, and the Mexican Egg Rolls were great too. We’ll be back again to try other dishes!

This is my favorite TexMex restaurant anywhere. I love the Crab filled enchiladas. The shrimp and scallop fajitas are great. The chips and salsa taste home made. I wish the salsa had a bit more bite to it, but that is being picky. With BYOB, the price is quite low, especially for the Jersey shore.
In the fall of 2016, the second entree is half price, which makes it a steal.

Food is very good. Prices are another issue. Stone Harbor/Avalon eateries are getting out of hand with their prices but anyone coming down here knows that. Also, in this current post-covid landscape, with every place doing take-out, people need to be vigilant on asking for silverware, napkins, etc when ordering. We received none of these “essential for take-out items”. The fajitas were also packed in a paper container, which started bleeding immediately. A few things need revisited in the take-out department but the food was good.

LOVE LOVE LOVVEEE this place! Our family goes here quite regularly and we have never had a bad experience. The staff is always super friendly, and the food is excellent! Always a MUST to save room for fried ice cream! Can’t wait to dine in again, but until then, takeout is next best!
