I don’t think I have seen that many torta options anywhere else (27!). They even have photos of every one lined up on the wall, which makes choosing a little easier. I kept it simple with the asada torta. We had some complimentary chips and refried beans to start. It was easily the best beans I have had in a while. The torta, which was already huge, came with rice and more refried bean. Flavorful, juicy carne asada and veggies were loaded between nicely toasted bread. I actually love how the bread was just thick enough to be enjoyed while not taking away from the meat. If I am being picky, the meat was a touch undersalted for my taste but there was a salt shaker on every table so it was an easy fix. Both salsas were great.

Great place it really does have big flavorful servings the tortas are definitely sharable unless you got a big appetite even the tacos are stuffed. Staff was nice even tho we came when it was somewhat slow 10/10 would recommend.

I got the chicken mole torta and a taco Al pastor. My wife got a torta Al pastor and a taco carne asada. Everything was so good – the carne asada had perfect crunchy bits, the teleras had a perfect consistency for sturdy but soft sandwiches that held up with the crema and other juices from the fillings. Very generous portions on the tacos, so much that we both had to take half a torta home as leftovers. And everyone behind the counter was super friendly. I hope they’re proud of their restaurant.

The tortas are so good. Every one I’ve tried has been spectacular (i get the cubano most often, but when i try others they’re great also). This is a lovely mom and pop shop that makes me feel good to support.

The food for the price was astonishing. The beans were excellent my five year you doesn’t like beans ate my whole side hehehe. The cheeseburger was huge the tortas or sandwiches were satisfying
However there was a wait on the food but it was completely worth it! I advice to call ahead so when you come in the food is ready! Other then that it’s the perfect place to eat cubanas order it with rice and beans totally recommend it 100%!

Food was phenomenal, we got the carne en su jugo and three tortas everything was very good and well made, fresh meats and bread. Service was a little spotty, server wasn’t too attentive and when we were checking out they ran my friends card and he was charged three times (which they refunded so we’ll see) aside from that I’ll definitely be coming back.

This place is life-changing – super nice staff, huge portions and incredible quality for the price. They made the best pollo en mole (mole chicken) torta I’ve ever eaten. The torta cubana was also fantastic. Definitely also try the cafe de olla (sweet cinnamon coffee). We will be back many times.

Excellent cemitas, we had a carnitas and veggie one and loved both. Friendly and helpful staff. Huge menu with lots of specialty options, very tasty homemade food, everything made to order. Hidden gem in Albany Park.

Amazing food and quality. Didn’t expect this place to be that good but it really is. The people are super nice, great service, and food comes out fast. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area.
For some reason the beans were the best beans I’ve had in while.
I don’t make reviews at all but this place definitely deserved it!

In this day and age, one is forever seeking value for their money, yet we long to enjoy good tasting food to boot. This restaurant has both, and is an absolute gem.
Ordered the chicken quesadilla, slow-cooked pork torta with rice and beans, shrimp salad, and seafood soup. The best of the four was the seafood soup: chunks of fresh fish, huge shrimp, and extra-large scallops. We have enough to have 2 meals for a family of 3. And for just over $40, that’s a pretty good deal for a seafood meal in the midwest.
The only downside is the place is small, with maybe seating for 15 people maximum, so it’s not your typical sit-down restaurant. Also, it maybe too much out-of-the-way for some to come down. Do what we did: order takeout. You can order online (someone will call to confirm order) and pick it up or have the food delivered.
Hands-down this is the best Mexican restaurant in the city of Chicago in terms of taste and value.
