the ideal date night, we had a really wonderful time here, terrific decor that is very appealing, tasteful and culturally beautiful. Excellent menu choices, perfectly presented dishes, and I loved the sushi! Nice pricing, very kind service from the staff, and they were happy to answer our questions as well. Really neat place.

Really fun restaurant, my kids love the ambiance and food. Inside has these little booths that feel like a private little izakaya. easy iPad ordering. We love this place and feels like a fun special spot for our family’s night out

Love Torrance Yokocho!! My go to favorite spot! They have varieties of dishes and drinks. Sometimes food can be salty but simply inform them. They really care about their customers.

I’d highly recommend this place to anybody craving Japanese food, the amount of food for the price is very good and tasty too. I’d highly recomment the Tonkotsu Ramen Spicy Miso, Hot Udon, Taiyaki with matcha ice cream and the shikuwasa soda. I’ll definitely come back when I’m around the area!

Newly opened during last summer in 2024, Torrance Yokocho is advertised to be the new center/corner of Japanese street food. Online reservation is straightforward. Digital ordering is simple. Cashless payment is convenient. Staff is not the friendliest bunch, but at least they are not rude. The restaurant is clean. Most importantly, food is not cheap and quality is so-so. Nothing really stands out. There are definitely better options for dinner at the same price level in the area.

Make reservations. We didn’t and there were no more booths, but were able to sit at the counter. Food was good. Atmosphere was great. Only one thing I’d comment negatively on is that the burdock root chips were insanely oily. Everything else was great. Looking forward to coming back for 50% yakitori + drinks.

Update: Came back again for the above mentioned 50% off yakitori. Everything was delicious. Drinks were great too. Dan dan noodles and udon noodles were perfect. Booked via yelp and got a booth this time. Looking forward to spreading the word!

We thought the food was decent but not outstanding. The pork with bean sprouts had good flavor and was the best “bang for the buck”. We ordered the tuna sashimi and it was good but not any better than getting a package at the local Japanese supermarket. The yakitori was also good but I wish the chicken skin could be more crispy, the beef skewer was overcooked a bit. Lastly the ramen wasnt bad but I think the fish powder was a bit too strong.

Overall, this restaurant has an amazing experience!

The booths, the decor, the staff even the paint on the floor was perfectly YOKOCHO and whimsical

The thing that got me, the most was the “Homemade” pork shumai! Simply perfect and is something that is really hard to find at Japanese restaurants

I hadn’t even paid the check yet and I was already thinking about the next time I would visit this restaurant …

Authentic Japanese Izakaya with Private Booths

Visited on a Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. Each table had its own semi-private curtain, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere—perfect for a date night.

The food was freshly made, especially the skewers which came out hot and well-seasoned. Even the vegetables were fresh and flavorful—no shortcuts here.

I especially enjoyed their shochu high-ball. The lemon flavor was refreshing with just the right kick—highly recommend it!

Definitely coming back again.
