For my order, I tried their popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi. it was pretty good! There’s a strong popcorn aroma when you sip it, but the milk tea itself isn’t as strong as I would prefer. The highlight of the drink, though, is definitely the brown sugar tapioca mochi! So soft and chewy 🙂
I would love to comeback to try their other drinks as well.
My current favorites include: Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea w/Brown sugar tapiochi and vanilla cloud and Mulberry Oolong w/ Osmanthus Jelly.
If you’re someone who loves the chewy texture of boba, you won’t find that here. Their jellies are softer and more reminiscent of grass jelly, but in different flavors. They have a nice selection of teas, but the actual tea flavor was pretty mild and tasted a bit watered down to me. That said, the shop itself and the drink presentation are beautiful.
I really wanted to like this place since it came highly recommended to me, but it was hard to justify the wait. It took me three visits just to finally get drinks. They close the waitlist early, only allow a set number of people inside, and you can only get 2 drinks per person.
It’s a different kind of experience, just not one for me. When I’m craving boba, I want the QQ texture and a quicker turnaround, so I’ll most likely opt for other spots in the future.
I think the wait is actually worth it. Here, conventional boba pearls are replaced by handcrafted tapioca cubes with the consistency of mochi. While the cubes are enough to be a dessert on their own, the famous Popcorn tea provides buttery, caramelized flavor notes reminiscent of kettle corn, complementing the tapiochi’s texture and subtle sweetness. Altogether, the effect was incredible..
