We went during happy hour with the family, and it was a great place to sit, eat, and talk among ourselves. The atmosphere was pleasant, and we really enjoyed our waiter.
If you have a chance, we recommend getting all the nigiri during happy hour. The fish is fresh, and it practically melts in your mouth.
Next we would recommend getting the takoyaki balls. They are nice and crispy on the outside and warm and goowy on the inside. It was well fried, and perfect for the kiddos.
And lastly, if you like something light and refreshing, try the seafood miso ceviche. We were even surprised that our 2 year old liked it. She ate the salmon and cucumbers when it was dipped with soy sauce.
Great place, great food, and great atmosphere. We highly recommend Torii!

Best sushi restaurant in Houston! Owners are Japanese , so you can be assured that food is authentic and fresh. You can tell they are passionate about their offerings. Great service as you would expect from an authentic Japanese restaurant. Felt like I was eating at a local restaurant somewhere in Japan! This is truly a hidden gem.

We recently visited this Japanese restaurant, which has just reopened, and had a great experience overall. As a young family with a toddler, we appreciated the relaxing and welcoming atmosphere—it made for a very comfortable dining experience.
The authenticity of the restaurant stood out, especially with our server being Japanese, which really enhanced the overall feel. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and definitely met our expectations. The nigiri and rolls were delicious, and I’d love to come back for more.
As for the yakitori, we enjoyed it, but I do have a couple of suggestions for improvement. We ordered the yakitori set, but unfortunately, some of the skewers were served cold, which affected the experience. The warmth of the food is a big part of the enjoyment, so perhaps paying more attention to that could make the meal even better. Additionally, we ended up ordering an item that was already included in the set (grilled peppers), and it would have been helpful to get a reminder about that when ordering. A quick mention could have saved us from repeating an item.
Despite those small issues, we had a wonderful time and will definitely consider coming back for another visit. We’re excited to try more of the menu and hope these minor points can be addressed for an even better experience next time.

Wow! Not sure where to start with this place. My husband and I sat at the sushi bar where we visited with the incredibly talented chef. The staff was so kind and truly wanted us to enjoy our experience. There wasn’t a single thing we tried that we didn’t love. The bluefin flight, yellow tail crudo, chi toro truffle and A5 waygu were incredible. They’re even able to elevate something as simple as a spider roll. The quality of fish and ingredients here is superior. We will absolutely be back.

They just reopened this week with new ownership, and it was fantastic. Both owners previously worked at Nobu, and it really shows. The owner is from Nagasaki, Japan, and you can feel the care and passion in everything, from the warm service to the food. They’re currently in their soft opening, and everything we tried was so good. This is officially our new weekly spot. Love supporting a Japanese owned business built on a dream.

Came here for my boyfriend’s and I’s anniversary and I’m so glad we did!! My boyfriend has been here before and they recognized him, they were just so kind!! The food there was exceptional!! HIGHLY recommend the wagyu!! It just melts in your mouth!! I wish I took more pictures, everything here was served just so beautifully!! This is a beautiful, intimate place to have dinner!!

An amazing place to grab Japanese food in Katy. Super friendly service, clean and neat spot, very intimate space, great selection of items to pick from their menu. The highlight of the night was the Crudo as that was my favorite. The sashimi was good and the black miso cod had a very good and interesting taste. I highly recommend and would come back.

Quaint and upscale sushi place with amazing nigiri and attentive service. We went here for a date night and we’re so pleased we found this place. The atmosphere is relaxed but still cozy. The sushi preparation was modern with respectful nods to tradition and restraint with flavors that let the quality of the fish shine through. Prices were commensurate with the experience so it’s not a budget experience, but worth it. Highly recommended!

Its a bit pricey but you get quality. Came here on a random Tuesday and was surprised. Watching the chef carve and get the best pieces from each fish for the nigiri was a lot of fun. My wife and I will be back.

We had a great experience at TORII! The service was very attentive, and all the rolls we ordered were delicious and fresh. The space is a bit tight, with tables fairly close together, so it might not be ideal for an intimate date night, but the excellent service more than made up for the lively atmosphere.
