It’s our first time here. Although the food is great, the service is rather disappointing. One server took the wrong order for one of the skewers. When we asked her what the skewer was since we didn’t recognize it being the one ordered, she refused to admit that it was a mistake. Instead just stated that the wrong item was what we ordered.
They also kept asking if we needed more drink when we already had three total (four adults but only two will drink), which sounded pushy.

This is mini Japan right here in Honolulu
Every dish is better than the next – order lots of dishes to share so you can taste it all steak and chicken skewers were great to share and cucumbers delish!

Call ahead to make reservations- you will probably not get in without one! Uber if you can – limited parking ☀️ ️

I had a really disappointing experience at Tori Ton. My friend actually got sick after having dinner here due to what seemed like food poisoning. The food quality does not match the price at all — the taste is well below average. The chicken liver was undercooked, and the gizzard skewers were tiny. The only thing that tasted decent was the rice bowl.

The service was also terrible. The staff stopped taking our order halfway and made us wait before coming back. On top of that, they kept repeatedly asking if we wanted drinks, and the way they did it came across as rude and pushy.

Overall, I cannot recommend this place given both the food safety issues and the poor service.

Low-key fire yakitori spot – chicken skin’s got that smoky crunch, liver was perfectly medium rare, and karaage’s juicy and seasoned well. Highball goes down smooth. Chill vibes all around. Just make sure to book ahead, it gets packed fast.

Came here for dinner. Parking was a little difficult to find but eventually found one. We had the following and that were all very good. clams with sake – superb. Pork belly was seasoned to perfection. Beef was very tender. The cucumber salad was very refreshing. Calamari was tender and delicious. The quail eggs were my favorite and I usually dont like quail eggs. The deep fried tofu was silky and also very good. The meat ball was very good with the raw egg yolk dip. Definitely a go to place for yakitori. The servers were also so very friendly and nice.

I’ve been here several times, and I’m always welcomed with a fun and friendly atmosphere. It’s great whether you’re dining alone or with a large group, but since it’s a popular spot, I recommend making a reservation—especially on weekends.

Every dish I’ve ordered has suited my taste perfectly. Yakitori takes some time to prepare, so it’s best to order it early.

And since it’s an izakaya, drinks are a must! The mega-size drinks are a great deal, so I always end up ordering those lol

Rather loud crowd and small space. Food is consistent and drinks are reasonably priced.

Make a reservation or you might not get a table. People either sit and drink for long periods of time.

Friendly staff and attentive. Yakitori takes some time but we’ll worth the wait.

The staff were quite nice and energetic, but the food was just okay — not particularly outstanding. The clams even had some sand in them, and the stir-fried noodles were too salty. Overall, the flavors were just so-so.

Came here after seeing it recommended on YouTube.
They don’t let you order skewers unless you also order drinks, which was already a bit disappointing. For appetizers, we got edamame, cucumber, and oden. The cucumber tasted oddly like salted chicken, the edamame portion was tiny, and the oden was just okay.

The chicken and wagyu skewers were pretty good, and even though the chicken hearts weren’t cleaned well, I could overlook that. But the real issue was the chicken liver skewer — it came out still bleeding, which looked really off-putting. I asked the server to have it cooked a bit more, and they literally just torched it black with a flame gun. When it came back, it smelled completely burnt.

I told the server that cooking something through and burning it are two very different things, and asked if they could redo or remove the dish. The server’s attitude was quite rude — they said, “That’s how it’s supposed to be. Take it or leave it.”

Overall, really disappointing service and attitude. The food was hit or miss, and I wouldn’t come back.
