As an official Austin’ite I can say this location sticks to the traditiom of Keep Austin Weird! Jaycee was awesome to chat with and provided excellent service! The food was perfect! Her energy is always upbeat, her recommendations are spot-on, and you can tell she genuinely cares about giving every guest a great experience.
Not only does she make amazing drinks (seriously — the margaritas are perfection every time), but she also creates such a fun, relaxed vibe that keeps us coming back. From the moment you sit down at the bar, JC makes you feel like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. She doesn’t just pour drinks — she creates an experience. I ordered carryout from Torchy’s Tacos (four tacos plus chips and queso) and ended up waiting 35 minutes. I had to ask for an ETA and was told another 15–20 minutes, yet my pager never went off. I was waiting in my car and someone eventually came outside with the order.
Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing as the wait. The tacos looked rushed and poorly assembled, more like fast food than what you’d expect for the price. After one bite, the chicken had a freezer-burn taste and was bland even after adding sauce.
The staff appeared visibly unhappy and overwhelmed, which reflected the overall experience. For the cost, this was a letdown, and I regret not choosing the restaurant next door instead, Mamacitas. For the price, this was a long wait, low quality food, and an experience that didn’t come close to the hype.

I’ve been to this location twice now and both times my tacos have been skimpy. Although the food tastes good, I don’t see any value in coming here anymore. Charging $6.25 for this is absolutely insane and not what the company was founded on. I used to eat at Torchy’s all the time in Texas and not once did I ever receive a taco portioned like this. Here, it seems to be the norm.

My wife and I frequently come to Torchy’s Tacos and are always pleased with the food and service. The options are amazing. This week I tried the Steak Fajitas. Awesome portions, and the taste was spot on. My wife usually has the Outlaw Bowl, but this week she tried the Airstream Salad. She was stuffed and really enjoyed the flavor and how fresh it was. The staff and our server Isaiah, at the New Center Point location in Colorado Springs, are always kind and greet us with a smile. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Really wanted to make Torchy’s a staple in our happy hour rotation but the consistency of the food just isn’t there. Last experience was good, this time not so much. Had some real sad taco components that should not have been served. Or maybe my tacos just sat under a heat lamp for too long. Atmosphere is cool, servers are great and the happy hour prices are solid, but there’s an abundance of far superior tacos in town.
