clean restrooms for men and women separate with lots of drink options lots of seating lots of sitting at the bar and lots of outboard sitting with covered patio making this a very attractive place with actually decent Wi-Fi speeds and all the usual options you would expect from a torchy’s with a couple of flat screen TVs playing sports that you can kick back and watch
they also have this kiosk and you can order to pick up to go to skip the line as well as shared parking I would say handicap accessible just keep in mind getting here is half the battle because it’s a shared parking area at the new HEB shopping center that they made in this area but I know so many people moving to this area and this is definitely a great spot to grab a quick lunch or dinner to go that torchy’s is definitely known for and of course my personal favorite is the secret menu
so I got the secret menu Matador which is my personal favorite fried brisket taco with plenty of meat with my favorite day of a little sauce and thankfully they are in my request and we’re not skimpy on the diablo sauce with thankfully superb customer service here to make sure I got my ordered and got served in the reasonable amount of time with the catchy little flat drink koozie thing that vibrates once your mail is ready and then have somebody come out and get your meal
About the alcoholic options as well as a happy hour margarita and as well even have Red Bull to go orange juice to go which I found Todd but unique about this location and churro desserts inside the bill say the lesson dulce de leche and they have the torch bowls for those that work like a vegetarian option salad option and veggie tacos as well with their famous fried avocado
we’re highly recommend this location looking for bite to eat and or hang out in this area and don’t forget you can also download the app and get for free tips scheduled sauce and more
One thing I always appreciate about Torchy’s is the atmosphere. The vibe is upbeat, the music is great, and the restaurant is always clean and well-kept. The staff is super friendly, and they do a great job of creating a welcoming experience. Whether it’s your first time there or your hundredth, the energy of the place makes the food taste even better.
Now, something I wish they would change: the tipping process for takeout orders. When you place an order through the app, it automatically prompts you to tip, with default options like 10% or 15%. Personally, I don’t see why this is necessary for takeout. What are they doing differently from fast food workers at places like McDonald’s? I’ve never thought to tip at a fast-food spot unless someone went above and beyond, and it feels like tipping has become too normalized in situations where it doesn’t really make sense. Plus, you’re tipping before you even get your food, which feels awkward because if something goes wrong—like an incorrect order—you’ve already tipped. I’d honestly rather pay a bit more for my food upfront and know the staff is being paid well instead of feeling pressured to tip.
Speaking of mistakes, I don’t know if the kitchen staff can see whether or not a customer tipped, but sometimes it feels like orders come out wrong more often when I don’t tip. Maybe that’s just a coincidence, but it’s crossed my mind a few times. Either way, I think there’s room for improvement here because it would be better if tipping wasn’t expected for takeout in the first place.
Despite that, I still love Torchy’s and eat there probably once a week. The food is always fresh, and I’m obsessed with their Chipotle Ranch and Diablo Sauce—they’re the perfect complements to just about everything on the menu. I’d also recommend trying the Tractor drinks. The Strawberry Fields flavor is my favorite, but the lemonade is also fantastic. Plus, free refills on those are a nice bonus!
If you’re ordering takeout, I recommend using the iPhone or Android app because it can save you a lot of time waiting. The only thing I’d suggest improving is making the portion sizes for takeout the same as what you get when dining in. It would be interesting to actually go in with a scale one day and weigh the portions to confirm the difference—I’m tempted to do it!
Overall, Torchy’s is a great spot with amazing food and a fun atmosphere. While there are a few things I’d tweak, it’s still a place I highly recommend, whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout.
The tacos are the obvious highlight—bold, well-seasoned, and loaded with ingredients that actually complement each other instead of competing. You can tell they don’t cut corners on quality, and the portions are generous enough that you leave satisfied. The queso alone is reason enough to show up; it’s rich, addictive, and easily one of the best around.
We also ordered four Baja Shrimp Tacos, and all four were ABSOLUTELY INEDIBLE. The tortillas were 100% soggy, almost falling apart, and cold (taken from a refrigerator). The shrimp inside the tacos was cold and felt like chewing gum, indicating that the tacos were also old and had been prepared and stored for a long time. As I said, the employee who put that on my order knew what they were doing; it was 100% intentional. So I DO NOT RECOMMEND eating in or ordering takeout from that place.
The food is also very good but the service was incredible!
When I received my taco, it had cilantro on it and I don’t like it, as I was trying to remove the cilantro, the server told me “don’t worry, I will bring you another one without cilantro”. And so he did! very quickly I might add!
A few minutes later, another server asks me if I would like a beer. I said I would love a beer. And so he brings the beer on a cold glass!
I am impressed!
Congratulations!
