I’m not big on seafood, but this place made me want more. The view of the bay is beautiful, with outside seating on the dock. The bathrooms were nice, amd so was the bar. We enjoyed a nice Shiner bock with our meals.
Attached are pictures (sorry we started eating before we took the pictures, but we were starving and ready to eat) I had the pecan crusted red snapper, it was AMAZING! Flaky, most, booming with flavor. It came with rice and mixed veggies and a lemon butter cream sauce. This is what you want!!!
She had Mahi Mahi avocado, she doesn’t do well describing foods, but I can always tell if it’s a slam dunk or not because she will chew silently and give me one of these
Try the stuffed mushroom caps, filled with shredded crab and topped with cheese. And key lime pie for dessert!!!

I could stop my review at Royal Red Shrimp and anyone who has had them knows the rest of this restaurant food is gonna be EXCELLENT. Top Water did not disappoint in all of my 10 visits. I live in far far north Houston and I will drive the 1hr plus to come here. The staff is friendly, attentive and well versed on the menu. Every time I come here I try something different except I will always order the Royal Reds and 1 grilled Mahi Fish taco. The prices are very reasonable and portion size perfect. The seafood is so fresh. They have cute outdoor seating on rocking benches along the dock. I posted some photos of our last visit. Sautéed crab claws in their parmesan sauce, Mahi taco, seafood plates.

Wonderful experience overall. Such a Beautiful day and wanted a nice meal outdoors and this was the perfect place for that. No wait for table, only a line to get the hostess desk. Service was fast and friendly. Food was delicious and not overpriced. Can’t wait to go again.

I absolutely loved this place! It was our first time visiting, and my wife and I were blown away. Our server, an older gentleman whose name I unfortunately can’t remember, was outstanding—he anticipated our needs and we didn’t have to ask for anything. Though the restaurant was packed, I initially thought we would be there all day. However, everything came out quickly, and the food was fantastic. The margaritas were perfect as well. We requested a seat outside to enjoy a nice ocean breeze, and that’s exactly what we got. I highly recommend this place!

Topwater Grill completely stole our hearts. There’s something magical about dining by the water, the breeze, the view, and the calm all made it feel like a little escape. The food was delicious, the drinks were perfectly made, and everything was surprisingly affordable. Nicole took such good care of us with his warm, friendly service. It was the kind of night you don’t forget peaceful, romantic, and full of good vibes. We can’t wait to come back.

We were recommended this place by friends who have eaten here before when in town so we decided to drive out here give it a try on a Friday evening.
We were seated outside right away and then waited, and waited, and waited for someone to at least acknowledge us. Finally after waiting 15 minutes, I called the front desk to ask if they could send someone out to take our drink order.
After another 8 minutes, Nicholas came out. He apologized for the wait, took our drink order and offered a free appetizer.
Mind you, the table next to us was seated a few minutes prior to us, were acknowledged and served immediately by their waitress. Not sure if she couldn’t handle more than one table at a time or if they were under staffed.
The table seated next us on the other side had to wait too until Nicholas came out. I don’t believe he was the normal waitstaff for that area.
From that point, our service and food was good.
My husband had their gumbo. He gets it where ever we go and said this was the best by far!
I asked Nicholas if the grilled red snapper and shrimp were good. He said is the top dish ordered there. So that’s what I got. My husband ordered the 12 piece fried shrimp – was good but he couldn’t finish it all. Took the remaining pieces to go. The red snapper and shrimp was good too.
At that point we requested our tab. It was brought to us and then we waited AGAIN. After 10 minutes we finally took our tab to the inside bar to ask them if they could ring it up there. They did.
I forgot to mention that the booth they sat us in outside was a pretty cool glider but it was broken like an overweight person had sat in it. See photo.
In conclusion; the food is great! Service, not so much! Will not be back with so many other options around!!

Wanted to find a place with great seafood and Topwater Grill did not disappoint!! Had gumbo, fried oyster and shrimp platter, pan seared oyster with ettoffee….everything was delicious!! Totally recommend this place!

Great spot with very friendly staff. Even the customers at the bar were very friendly! We tried the gumbo and it had a lot of meat in it! I will definitely be coming back and I would recommend others to check it out if they are in the area.
