Unfortunately, thats about all the good I can say.
We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and garlic bread. The garlic bread was fine, nothing special I’d order it again in the future even tho marinara sauce is extra. The biggest issue with my order was the pizza. While over all it tasted fine I wouldn’t call it good. It was in my opinion under cooked and our pizza was wrong. There was extra toppings (sausage I think) added to our pizza that we didnt ask for. It wasn’t the end of the world but it makes me think we may have received somebody else’s pizza. All of this wasn’t realized until I got home. Overall I can’t say it was a great first impression. I plan to give them another chance and reevaluate this review if I have a better experience. (I do want to try some of the other food options available)
Saw the more diverse menu, and wanted to check it out. Husband got the Cajun pasta and I got the small Greek salad with gyro meat.
Both meals were delicious, we will def be back to try more.
Was bummed to not see it busier, while down the street bar was packed.
From what I could gather in other reviews, there was a recent change in ownership. To the new owners, you have some great food, but you are not marketing yourself appropriately. As a consumer, perhaps you could remove the pizza and subs, or take some time to understand how to make the pizza unique for you. Keep the pizza but give it a unique spin.
The pizza right now tastes cheap. It looks cheap and it reminds me of high school in a bad way. A lot of others comments say there is a lot of cheese and I agree. But I LOVE cheese. So that shouldn’t be an issue. It’s the quality and the way it is cooked that is the problem. There’s no flavor other than bread and cheese. It’s not good. The sub sandwiches were average, however the bread was cooked too long and pretty much burned on the bottom.
I don’t generally leave lower reviews for places that I had a good experience with (in terms of the service) but this restaurant needs to figure itself out. Keeping one foot in both Ecuadorian and the original pizzeria may not work out. Lean into your strength, because the single Ecuadorian dish I ordered was delicious.
I wish them the best of luck but I won’t be back for the pizza or subs. Way too expensive for that kind of quality.
Update: I thought it was obvious I loved their food but didn’t like the pizza and subs. I want them to do well and I thought it would be good advice to lean into what they’re good at because they DO have good food. I wanted to see this business do well…but after their unprofessional reply, I suppose my criticism was taken in a negative light. That wasn’t my intention. I love seeing small businesses thrive so it’s sad to see that negative response.
I won’t remove my review as it is all my true experience but I still wish them the best even if what they said was unprofessional and hurtful.
Went there for my birthday with my brother and his family.
I will most definitely go back again!
The food: we really enjoyed the food quality and taste! Portions were perfect too! Pastas have homemade sauce from what I could tell! Cajun dish could use more spice and the tortellini could use less but other than that, a great meal! Cheese curds were delicious 🙂
New owner is wonderful and wants to please the community. Please come back out to Tops and check out the updated menu and fresh ingredients made with love!
We have been going to Tops for decades and have loved the pizza, sandwiches, and specialty dishes. Last night, I ordered a simple two topping for pick up. Not only was it severely undercooked (dough was sticking to box), the mushrooms were canned and we counted less than five tiny pieces of sausage. It was flavorless and poorly prepared.
I am never on to blame it on “new ownership”, but we would have never been treated this way before. The food quality and service have dropped to the point where we cannot go back any time soon.
I hope they humble themselves and make changes. If they do, I am open to trying again. It is sad because Rosemount doesn’t have that many restaurants, and we just lost a previously good one.
