been coming here since I moved here in 2018. Fire food never had a complaint. Eggrolls are buss prices have gone up, but that’s everywhere, not just here. I’ve built a friendship with the lady mae shes cool, ash the food is always ready when they say it is cash only ive talked to them about a atm being put in there. They are simply concerned about it being broken into, which you can’t blame them. It’s Durham. I love their pork wonton soup lomains fried rice, and chicken wings are bomb, so is the lemonade. They also cater; they have never failed me with catering for partys always have it hot, fresh, and ready for pickup. Don’t ask for cater, ask for a big tray case closed. Love this place

Now, let’s address the outside. Yes, it looks a little sketchy. Yes, it gives strong “hole in the wall” energy. And yes, that is usually how you know the food is going to be good. This place absolutely delivers.
The egg rolls were crunchy, hot, and exactly what an egg roll should be. Not sad. Not soggy. Crunchy. The General Tso’s chicken was on point with great flavor and solid heat without being overpowering.
Major bonus points for customer service. We asked for noodles instead of rice due to a rice allergy, and they swapped it out with zero drama. Another Tops China location refused to do that, so this one instantly wins the flexibility award.
And let’s talk temperature. This food was hot. Not “lukewarm by the time you get home” hot. I mean “careful, this might remove a layer of skin” hot. For takeout, that is a huge win.
So yes, it may not look fancy from the outside, but if you care about flavor, freshness, and not being told no over a simple substitution, this Tops China absolutely earns its stars.

Eveyone knows this is the BEST Chinese food in town. I’m really picky about my meat and unfortunately the beef did not do it for me. It wasn’t bad just a tad bit chewy. Food was hot and fresh and the lunch combo was under $10. Note this is a CASH ONLY establishment. There is an ATM in the parking lot and you can get cash back at the grocery store next door as well.

This place is the best of three chinese restaurants around me… Their egg rolls are a little cheaper and bigger.. Their plastic food containers are nice and not made of black recycled computers which the others use. Their portion seemed generally bigger here… The only catches they are cash only , Which is ok by me.

I ordered the vegetable egg foo young combination platter. Price was not on menu but the price I paid was over the most expensive combo listed on menu.there was only one person taking phone orders and waiting on in person customers so I had to wait and was interrupted several times so she could answer the phone.The quality of the food was very poor only two egg patties with a container full of yellow rice, and the egg roll was a soggy mess,but the gravy was good. Tops used to be my go to Chinese restaurant.Don’t waste your money

Reviews are trash? This can not be the best place in town( as stated)..I taste the old oil it’s cooked in, egg roll trash, shrimp roll big and nasty.. I stopped by because I was near and seen reviews but I will never purchase from here again.. it’s not it.
