As a self proclaimed foodie and flavor expert, I wasn’t blown away but it was my first time trying their food. For me, when it comes to this cuisine, I can’t give an honest review after having it once. What makes their food great is consistency, that makes customers continue to return. As a first timer of this location I ordered a basic meal, general tso chicken, and I wasn’t thrilled. Entirely too sweet and drenched with crushed red pepper. The white rice seemed old and steamed. The fried chicken was mid. Would we go back??? It must be a rough day and I64 must be backed up, both directions. Like I said, first timers but will update if tried again.

I went there to get dinner a few nights ago and I must say it was yet another disappointing experience and most definitely my last time coming there. I have been going here since they opened in the earlier 2000’s. Every time I go there it is at minimum a $70-80 order. I went in here the other night and they had apparently ran out of fried rice, I heard them telling a customer who was placing an order next to me, but assumed since they did not say anything to me that they had enough to fill my order. Once I got home, I noticed that the rice was actually white rice that they had put something on to make it darker and appear fried it was mushy and gross. Also got some of their egg rolls and they did not taste right no one in my family would eat them they tasted horrible almost like they were spoiled. I have always liked this place but it has definitely gone down hill over the years. Between the poor customer service and the poor food quality. I am sad to say this establishment will never get my business again. I hope that in the future they can be more forthcoming with their customers and not do shady things like add sauce to white rice to make it appear fried. I ordered what I ordered because that is what I like. And for what I paid for dinner, it was quite disappointed to have to throw half of it away.

I should have known it was gonna be bad soon as I walked in the place smelled like a fresh used bathroom . I ordered shrimp lo mein and crab Rangoon. The lo mein tasted off and the only flavor the Rangoons had no taste . This is the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I couldn’t finish it and had to throw it out . What a waste $30 +

My kids live for the Chicken on a Stick appetizer. The cream cheese wontons are super good. Will definitely be a regular spot for us. Very quick service too. 10-15 minutes for 5 appetizers and 1 entree.

This quaint Asian restaurant is just off of I-64 West. We ordered our meals – Combination Lo Mein and Mixed Vegetables. Both came with fried rice and egg rolls. I must say both dishes were delicious! The owners were cordial, and we left with kind words and full stomachs.

I purchased a combination meal for $12.95 plus tax. I had been at work for several hours and was exhausted, picked up my order which included an egg roll , so I changed my clothes and sat down to eat my food, I took my fork to combine the rice with the sauce, up came a HUGE piece of wired metal about three inches long.
So I called the restaurant to let them know what I found and I would return it to them for a refund, they were very rude over the phone, almost yelling at me.
I was refused a refund so I packed everything (except the egg roll) into the plastic bag . I thought about returning it but decided it wasn’t worth the gas.
I will never return to that establishment again and I WILL NEVER recommend them to anyone. If you go there be very careful because people in my community are saying it’s happened to them before as well. Terrible customer service and support.

Updating since it’s been a while since my initial review:
Tonight we ordered 2 combo dinners, General Tso’s and Bourbon Chicken. Both were excellent and good portions. The broccoli was cooked perfectly and the egg rolls were crispy and tasty.
Everything was fantastic and I’m grateful to have Tops China so close!

The only game in town on this side of New Kent. Food comes out quick every time. I’d say the quality is pretty good, never really had a disaster with it. It’s not just this place but Chinese food math is as mysterious as paper towel roll size math. None of their prices seem outrageous, but by the time we’re done ordering, it’s never less than $30-$40! We don’t use them too often but when we’re in the mood for Chinese food, it’s nice to have them here.

I only got a couple apps and egg rolls from here. Both the spare ribs and chicken on a stick were dry and stringy. The sauce on the ribs was sweet. It wasn’t bad but I prefer spicy myself. The egg rolls were hot and filled with pork. Not much veggies which was different. Definitely got my food fast tho. Maybe I’ll try something else next time.
