This is my new happy place. From the hospitality to the food! The owner and staff was so incredibly welcoming, what family dad energy this place has – even noting with the owner that I am Allergic to carrots, he took every precaution (knowing how much of their food is made with carrots and mostly also pre-made with) to ensure I was comfortable and siphoned through the menu with me so nothing touched my carrot allergy. This can be difficult since carrot allergies are pretty rare but he had shown such patience and consideration here.
Regardless, the food was amazing! It was rich, flavorful, like warm hugs in a bowl It was exactly what we needed. Ending the meal with their strawberry sticky rice is an absolute must! (So is Mango milk tea with Mango Popping Bubbles and their Taro is some of the best I’ve had!)

Tiny restaurant that packs phenomenal flavor. I had the summer roll which was perfect and then the grilled chicken pho that warmed me from the inside out. Definitely will be back to get more items off the menu. They even do brunch on the weekend.

My first time going to Topo and I really enjoyed it! The man who greeted us was very nice and welcoming, answered our questions, and food came out super fast! The Tofu Pho with veggies was AMAZINGGG. Felt like such a home cooked meal, everything tasted fresh, nothing artificial. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking for yummy Viet food

So happy this place exists. We are new to the area and I didn’t expect to find a good Vietnamese place but we did. Clean and fresh food. Friendly service. Food was excellent.

Update: 12/4/24
We have arrived literally at opening.
The owner sat is right away, was very friendly and nice.
Food is prepared fresh and is very good.
Pho portions are generous.
They will even provide you with a quarter for parking!
Definitely worth visiting on a cold winter day.
You will not be disappointed!
Just tell them Damian send you!
Excellent food. Big portions. Attentive staff. Good for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Lunch special available.
Definitely recommended. Only issue is lack of parking – only on street paid parking is available.

TOPO(the old post office) is a delicious spot to eat at. Entering the restaurant the vibe was diner like which was homey to NJ. When we were seated the waitress scrubbed our table which felt clean until it got sticky. I just wish it was a bit more smooth. Ordering drinks was good but warning no free refills. I got water, and you can actually get it at the table. They have a small spout which I find handy. We ordered the Topo sampler as an app which consisted of egg rolls, spring rolls, tarp egg loaf and dumplings. The sauces complemented the app very well and would order again. As an entree I ordered the Shrimp Clay Pot which was very fresh with all the vegetables. The shrimp and glass noodles were very hot, temperature wise. While that was cooling off I put the sauce on the side of rice for taste. Absolutely amazing, it was not greasy and caramelized very nice. I wish the Clay Pot dish was served in a Clay Pot. The metal pot was very aesthetic tho. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate rum cake but the waitress served us the crème brûlée. She must’ve forgot, since she was the only waitress. The crème brûlée wasn’t typical tho. The top didn’t crack like glass and the inside was not like a flan but more of a custard. It was good otherwise. We also ordered the strawberry sticky rice too. This dessert was good since there was not too much sugar. Seeing pink rice was surprising. While we were waiting for the check, my seats were moving tho. The next table over was getting out and pushed the whole seat. The seats are not grounded to the floor. It would be nice next time if they were grounded. Overall the experience was good and would come back next time I am in Hackettstown

This place quickly cemented itself as a staple restaurant to go to for something delicious and familiar. My personal favorite which I get every time I come here without fail are the duck spring rolls. They come with a coconut ranch sauce a fish sauce. And all of their sauces are homemade and can be purchased by the bottle (my favorite is the coconut ranch, it’s heavenly). They have options for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free dishes. Their gluten free fried chicken tenders are particularly good as an appetizer. I loved their crab rangoons as well. They have a good drink selection, of note being their topos iced tea(tangy and sweet perfect for summer), their Vietnamese coffee, and their homemade lemonade. Their soups are all delicious, I got the Laksa soup. They come in large portions and all taste delicious. Definitely come here for a scrumptious and lowkey place to eat.

I’ve been coming to Topo (and Pandan Room) for a few years now and always enjoy my visits. The vegan yellow curry soup bowl is consistently very tasty and filling! I like the number of dishes that can be made vegan upon request. There are definitely more vegan options at Pandan Room (the sister restaurant up the street), but there are still good options here. Today the service was a little slow, but generally it’s been good. Overall I really enjoy it here and will continue to come 🙂
