We went this past Sunday for the ‘Sunday Funday’ deal. There was a group of 10 of us, 5 teenagers & 5 adults. We reserved 2 bays together. My mother, has a torn meniscus but wanted to still come and join the fun however they had us on the 2nd floor & the elevator was out of order. I talked with the front desk & was told they couldn’t switch our bay (there were at least 4 empty bays on the ground floor). I went to let my mom know the news and she was willing to go up the stairs, but a waitress, Kaleigh, over heard and said “I would speak with a manager. They should be able to accommodate you. I’ll go speak with him for you” She went and they came back a few minutes later to tell us they were able to move our reservation to the ground floor so my mother didn’t have to go up the stairs with her injured knee and would be able to join in and socialize with us all easier.

The atmosphere was great. The food was okay. Nothing super amazing, but not horrible either. The kitchen was super backed up but our waitress was extremely attentive and very upbeat.

We all had a blast and will be back.

We had a group of nine and used two bays. Our server/host was Nani (I hope I spelled it right). She was fun and friendly and wonderful in helping us get set up. We ordered food which was delivered hot and timely. We all had separate checks and she was able to get the checks and payments right the first time. Good food, great game, excellent server and friends! What more does one need?!

So much fun! It was my first time trying Top Golf when we went as a group of 7! We had a super friendly host named Mark. We were split by two bays right by each other on the first floor. I was a little disappointed to be on the first floor but it ended up being so much fun! The concept was easy, even for me, not super athletic lol. There were plenty of games to choose from, we played Angry Birds for one round! We got nachos and they were amazing! I would compare them to top tier bar nachos! We also tried the mini donuts… heavenly! I do wish they offered coffee drinks but they offer many sodas and alcohol drinks. Overall, great time!

I would like to share our experience at Topgolf Avon this past Tuesday regarding the Two Bay Bundle Package, which I believe is misleadingly advertised.

Our kids reserved the Two Bay Bundle Package, which is promoted as including:

Topgolf Play for 2.5 hours (rates vary by day), and

A Menu Package with a choice of a $150 or $220 food and beverage option.

The package description states that this includes a $150 prepaid food and beverage credit to be used on the day of the event. We paid a 25% deposit ($81.25) at the time of booking.

At the end of our visit, I paid the bill and left. After speaking with the kids and reviewing the confirmation emails more closely, it became clear that the wording of the package is very misleading. While it states that the $150 food and beverage spend is “included” in the package, the fine print notes that any unused portion is not refunded—which is not the issue here.

The problem is that the package is marketed as a “bundle,” implying that the food and beverage credit is included in the package price. In reality, it functions as a minimum spend requirement, not a bundled inclusion. This distinction is not clearly or transparently communicated.

I attempted to contact the Avon location directly but was unable to reach a manager due to the AI phone system. I replied to the original emails and eventually received a response. One representative, Eric, initially stated that I had been mischarged. However, I then received a call from another representative who stated that I had not been mischarged. This inconsistency only added to the confusion.

Ultimately, the issue is not the charge itself, but the inaccurate and misleading wording used to advertise the package. Labeling this as a “Bundle Package” falsely suggests that guests are receiving a true bundled value, when that is not the case.

I believe the package description should be revised to accurately reflect what is being offered so future guests are not similarly misled.

Unfortunately, despite having a great time—the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, and the food and beverages were good—I would not return. The experience was overshadowed by feeling misled by the package description and ultimately paying nearly $500 for something that was advertised as a bundle but did not function as one. Transparency matters, and this left a lasting negative impression.

Went tonight and we had Marley as our server. She was phenomenal. Very attentive and patient with our group of teen boys.
My only complaint is the top golf nights that you pay extra for are lack luster. The one in Independence has colored lights on the course and feels like a party in the bays. This location is no different than during the day. Maybe the city made them dull it down? If not, it was a terrible decision. It is like the difference between cosmic bowling and regular bowling. It just isn’t the same. The ball dispensers are better here than independence.

I was really looking forward to this visit since it was my birthday, but the experience fell short. The manager acted like placing us in the luxury bay was an inconvenience and said it wasn’t any better than a regular bay because of the cold. I would’ve happily paid extra anyway. The waitress also didn’t seem to understand what was going on. It just felt unwelcoming and disappointing for what should have been a fun celebration.

The golfing experience was amazing, workers who helped plan the party were amazing. The waitress and manager in our bay were not the best…we were on our way out leaving, already paid for everything and the waitress cuts in front of us says we can’t leave tells manger that THEY made a mistake on bill neither of them could figure out where the mistake was or tell me whose bill it was. They also would not show me the bill but said we still owed. Waitress also cleaned our area up way too early and people were still eating and threw away our food that we planned on taking home. Left the place with a sour taste because of how rude it ended with manager and waitress.

This is going to be a pretty complex review because it will factor several aspects in our unique situation. I’ll start from the beginning…..

My wife and I want to take up golfing and what better way to do that than to focus on your swing and learning the basics at a driving range, golf simulator, or a place like Top Golf with the games and technology. I played as a kid and my wife has zero experience. We booked training lessons 3 days prior to the appointment.

We showed up for our appointment and the staff at the front service desk was confused. Long story short, the person that taught lessons quit 4 weeks ago. Apparently we weren’t the only ones who showed up with an appointment for lessons that same day(4 weeks after they left). The manager took down our info for scheduling in the future and left it at an apology for corporate adjusting the website. Having been in customer service management for 15+ years, I was very disappointed with that response from management. This is the whole reason for the lower rating.

We decided to rent a bay to just to see what the Top Golf experience was like. They have heaters for winter and the seats had seat warmers, so the cold wasn’t a bother. Plenty of game options to play, a good food and drink menu. We ordered drinks and food to try them out and saw several other menu items we’d try in the future if we came back. Our server was awesome and provided great service and helpful recommendations.

Sadly, my wife not having any golf experience didn’t have the same level of fun I did. I had fun with my limited golf experience and the drinks and food were good.

Overall, not sure we’d go back. The management response to scheduled lessons with a trainer that left a month ago and having just scheduled the lesson 3 days ago was a huge put off. As a manager myself in customer service, a follow up to schedule in the future really isn’t doing right by the customer. Outside of that, it was a fairly good experience.

It was a weekend over the holiday break, so being busy is expected. We put our name in on the waitlist which was 3 hours. Our bays ended up not being together. The girl at the desk was nice and apologized. We moved on. We then ended up with 2 separate servers, again you can get over it. The food order that went in last came out first. Our other tables food didn’t come out and then was ready 11 minutes before our time was up so we canceled. The server was apologetic. It was busier. Not her fault, not the kitchens fault, it happens. The biggest part was that the manager walked by about 20 times before, during, and after our issues which he was told about. We didn’t need anything for free but being aware and checking problems is a huge part of hospitality. Sadly it seems to be worth driving 30 minutes to the other location, or just planning to not eat there.

We had a great time at TopGolf over winter break! Service was tremendous, everything was clean, the heat was almost too hot, and food all came out great. I notice some complaints about the short tees, I would say we actually were happy that it was lower. We golf quite a bit as a family though so the placement is actually where it should be, not artificially high for a more novice player
