Stopped in for a quick lunch. Lots of lunch specials, but tried the basic two chicken tacos combo for $13. Huge tacos, all white meat, creamy beans and good rice, chips and salsa. Excellent lunch and nice waitress.

So, I had not been to a Top Shelf Restaurant in, probably, over 25 years. ( maybe more ) The 2 or 3 times I did go, I was not impressed with the food.
I decided to give it another try.
Glad I did.
Stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon, seated (by request) on patio.
Entire patio to my self ❤️.
Reed, my server, showed up seconds later with chips ands salsa. I placed my order, house margarita and #H lunch special. 2 Tacos rice and beans. (Shredded beef taco)
Showed up a few minutes later with the drink. (I think they forgot to add the tequila. It was so weak I couldn’t even finish it. (Should have sent it back, but I didn’t)
Salsa was ok. Nothing special, no real spice to it.
Food arrived about 5-8 mins later.
I love tacos, shredded beef, and these were really good. Beans were a little bland, but mix a little salsa in and you’re ok. Rice was good.
Reed checked on me at least 3 times .
Bill came to roughly $22.
I will for sure come back.

Have been going here for 20 years. Ate lunch here January 5th.. I dont know what has happened the plates are smaller, the serving is smaller , and prices higher.. will not be going back if this is what Top Shelf is becoming. Loosing a long time loyal customer. Service was still good and atmosphere but we go there for good food or did.

We once tried this place about 8 years ago, the food was not very good then, but edible. We tried it again last night with some friends because of the nice patio. You think by now they would have tasted the multitude of Mexican restaurants in the valley and improve their frozen, cafeteria style food. I guess not. Again, it is edible, but there are so many better choices out there. We the lite fish tacos, you think it would be served with black beans and an actual salad as described. Instead they slapped refried beans on the plate and the salad is a few pieces of iceberg lettuce. Seriously? Come here for a beer and a simple quesidilla and enjoy the atmosphere, but do yourself a favor and have dinner elsewhere.

We’re out-of-towners visiting from Texas, and this spot absolutely impressed us! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The atmosphere had just the right mix of lively and welcoming, making it a great place to sit back and enjoy a meal. The strawberry margaritas are the bomb—perfectly made and definitely a highlight of our night. What really stood out was the service—our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home.
If you’re looking for amazing Mexican food with great vibes, awesome drinks, and excellent service, this is the place to be. We’ll definitely be back on another trip!

Food is great service was super friendly and just attentive enough. I love the atmosphere of this restaurant it feels like you in a little village somewhere. It is our favorite place for good Mexican food. Great flavor without unnecessary overheating of the food. Highly recommend.

We had not been there for over 10 yrs because we didn’t have one near us. We happened to be in the West valley and saw the restaurant. Of course we had to stop since it used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant. To my surprise it was still amazing. I was so happy and we really enjoyed our meal. This is a great place.our server was Jordan & she’s fantastic. Restaurant was clean, everything on menu was available, open till 10 p. m.
They honor their hours! Very good meal.
The drinks were spot on! Strawberry daqueri was awesome. The bartender Kristy, didn’t rush anyone out early. Their margaritas are great.

I think I had bad luck the day we went. My food was not great. My husband and friends thought their food was pretty good. Service was wonderful, very attentive and she was very nice when I returned my food because it had chicken not beef. Over all a good experience, we will have to try again. I’ll update my review then.
