As a passionate barista I love to try out different coffee shops in my day to day routine. After a long day I decided to check out what was near me and I saw “Top shelf, Cafe and books” and instantly I realized they had books.. and coffee.. WOW! literally the two things that make me who I am.. so I decided to check it out.
I walked in and saw a gorgeous polished book shelf full of books, a comfy seating area.. perfect for dates or casual coffee days with family or friends.. very friendly staff and an amazingly calm aura. I ordered a vanila latte with whole milk and I must say, it is very smooth and the milk is perfectly textured. Not to foamy, not to thick, and not burnt or over heated.
I recomended Top shelf Cafe and books to anyone who is looking to take a break from day to day life and re-caffinate for the day!
P.S: they also had calm cozy instrumental music too!

Stumbled onto this cute little spot adjacent to the hotel that I was staying in. After looking at the menu at the hotel for breakfast, I decided to venture out and see what else was in the area. Maybe about a thousand feet away was this spot, North Stonington Sandwich shop. What a cute little sandwich shop. Cozy, as if I were home. It’s family owned and run by a sweet woman and her daughters. What a delight! Looking for breakfast unsuccessfully. I decided to order a grill cheese sandwich with bacon. It was delicious along with a side order of pickle and a complimentary cupcake. Had a wonderful discussion with the owner and her kids and I found them to be so pleasant. Anyway, I’m back at the hotel eating my grilled cheese with bacon and enjoying it tremendously. Highly recommend The North Stonington Sandwich shop. We’ll see you again soon!

I visited this cafe for the first time today and it was so cute. It was fun to read all the coffee names and figure out which book it was named after. The staff were fantastic and delightfully engaging. There is plenty of seating at tables or in the cozy couch area. And don’t forget to check out the wall of books! I had a seasonal coffee that was delicious and I will definitely be back to try more of their coffee syrups made in house.

We tried the Scarlett Cheddar chicken sandwich and the Bound with Bacon “BLT” sandwich. Both were great! Fresh cooked chicken and thick slices of bacon. Highly recommend as a cozy place to settle in to eat, or an easy stop for a quick lunch pick up. We’ll definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I came this morning right when they opened and it was an amazing experience! We both loved our food and drinks. I had a latte he had a refresher and they were amazing! The atmosphere was great and we were treated so well. Will definitely be back!

This is an adorable little cafe that serves great food and fabulous drinks. We stopped for lunch on our way to Great Wolf Lodge and enjoyed friendly conversation with the owners. The environment is so cozy. You can sip your favorite beverage while reading a book from their collection. We will definitely be stopping here again when in the area. Can’t recommend this place enough!

What a disappointment compared to the sandwich shop that’s was located here previously. I won’t be going back. There were allot of disappointments here for starters they forgot to cut one of sandwiches in half and just slammed it into the plate. We had to ask for sides of sauce for the sandwich because they had put so little on. And the chips I was expecting something at least a little elevated not a bag Lay’s.
The other sandwich we got simply wasn’t a good flavor combination and was just a miss.

This is my new favorite place to go on the weekends. I am a bibliophile and a sucker for a sweet little drink. My husband loved their chai latte so it wont be difficult to persuade him to go back with me.

Tried this place only twice but it was well worth the 45 minute ride!! They change the menu often so check online! They are really fantastic!! You must try this place it’s small and cozy and they are in with other businesses so it’s worth the try!! I’m hooked on this place!!
