First time and it was everything I expected. The atmosphere is calm , and not too many tables. The food was fresh and worth the wait , and shout out to the lady that was working , she handled the orders and made the food. I will most definitely be back.

I just went in to this place this morning with my baby for the first time and have to say it was phenomenal! I grew up down south in north Carolina so when I moved up here to Indiana/Illinois i was pretty bummed to realize that not many places serve grits, but top of the mornin does and they are absolutely the best grits I’ve had since I moved up here 19 years ago! They were fresh, had the perfect amount of butter and salt in them to the point that I didn’t have to add any myself which has never happened to me up here the staff was fantastic, polite, and made the atmosphere fun in there! The rest of the food I got was fantastic too, like the bacon which was very meaty and thick cut, the eggs were super fluffy as well as made with real eggs and not the egg product you get at 99% of restaurants, and the waffle was PERFECT! I would definitely recommend this place and I will personally be going back again for breakfast!

Walked in and was professionally greeted by Sha and I ordered the turkey smash burger and southern shrimp and grits. She was the only one working and had to take and fix the orders, which was not a biggie for me because I was enjoying the atmosphere. However, 2 customers came in and left while she was in the back fixing food. Fast forward, as I’m sitting there, the front lobby filled with smoke and fumes from the appliance used to cook from. I was ok, but it may bothersthose that choose to dine in.
Nonetheless, we got the food and enjoyed it. I would ask for a less cheese next time because that turkey smash burger was loaded – check that cheese pull in the picture. Thanks for a great experience and I look forward to trying other menu items!

For a smaller breakfast place, this café is super adorable with a few options for indoor seating. The staff is very positive and you can tell they cook each meal with love. Every option is delicious and unique. The eggs are super fluffy, products are fresh and hot! Highly recommend giving Top of The Mornin Cafe a try for your next food stop. ❤️

MY GOD!! THE SHRIMP AND GRITS WERE SPECTACULAR. THE DEPTHS OF FLAVOR WERE ROBUST BUT NOT OVERPOWERING AND LEFT YOU WANTING BITE AFTER BITE…AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, THE BOWL IS GONE!!

Absolutely incredible soul food! I tried the shrimp and grits, bubble waffles and morning French toasty and I was amazed by how good each dish was. The waffle was the fluffiest waffle I’ve ever had, with the most amazing flavor, the French toast was the best I’ve ever had and the shrimp and grits was remarkable as well. I’m about to eat there again!

Food is decent, but looks nothing like pictures! Prices seem to change every single day & never match what’s on the menu!! I ordered the breakfast scramble one day for $12.84 after taxes, went back 3 days later, and was charged $12.99 before tax, and an extra 0.50 cents for cheese even though the menu says cheese is included. I wish I still had my receipt from the first order to show the difference. Update your menu & honor your prices!!

Friendly staff and delicious breakfast options. It is off the beaten path but worth finding. An improved ventilation system would make it even better. Try the hand held egg and bacon/sausage on French toast, you’ll be happy you did.

Went there for our anniversary back in April to just pick up a breakfast that’s a little outside the norm, and this place did NOT disappoint! Had the chicken and bubble waffle with a scrambled egg inside and it was amazing! Can’t wait to try out their shrimp and grits. I hope you guys keep getting business and I will personally spread the word about this place. Keep up the welcoming, positive attitudes as well as that also makes a huge difference. Keep up the good work!

First time trying this place. I ordered the blt with fries and I must say, this is one of the best blt’s I’ve had! The fries were soft just like I like them. Im.orsering this sandwich again tomorrow and looking forward to trying other dishes from here.
