Driving by this place and seeing the outside is what initially intrigued me. Now normally, whole in the wall, off the beaten path places heighten my interest, but after trying this food today, I now know why I always drove past this place. When I first opened the food, it didn’t smell 100% fresh, and then my order was wrong. I ordered the rib, chicken, and chop combo with green beans and okra. Instead of receiving green beans, I got a double portion of baked beans. When I opened the container, the bbq sauce was spilling out, so I already knew everything was oversauced to cover up the boo boo inside. That bbq sauce was not only off-putting but 1 whiff, and I was like uh huh I’m not eating that. The chicken was bland and had absolutely no seasoning. The ribs were hard, and the smokiness on it was overpowering. The chopped pork wasn’t fresh! Not only was it inedible, but it had a sordid ordor coming from the container. 1 teeny tiny bite of everything gave me an itchy throat and upset stomach, so you can imagine I will be in the bathroom later. I ended up donating the food to my favorite place, the trash! I threw out everything! If you’re thinking about coming here, I would stay clear and not even stop.

I am from South Carolina, and I was in Georgia getting my truck serviced. Us South Carolinians love some good bbq. I went out looking for food. So I Google food near me and, this place popped up. That food was so good I would come back to Georgia just to go to this place. The guy that worked there was nice and friendly. The food was off the chain. ❤️

I smoke Texas Style BBQ and maaaann when the sauce is heavy like gravy on BBQ that’s tells it all fr. I drive pass every week to get to Sweet Sadie May’s, I always wondered why I never saw any cars there and I found out today. My ribs and chicken were cooked days ago and refrigerated only to be microwaved to reheat and Sale??? All the meats only come with sauce to hide the fact that’s it’s no where near fresh. This food could have been cooked last week fr, chicken was dry and under seasoned. Ribs were dry and old. How are you selling old food and still in business???? Do Not Visit if your looking for fresh bbq, Disappointed is an understatement

Went to Tookes for the second time this year. Their food has changed some. They smoke the meat really well but it still needs more seasoning. I will say they give you enough food for what you pay. The sides were the best thing I’ve tasted in awhile, especially the mac and cheese.

I was craving Rib tips & this was the only establishment open. I asked if I could get the sauce on the side, I was told no because the tips come with the sauce. I didnt enjoy the rib tips due to the overwhelming mechanical smokiness and being over sauced, the greens were old but ok and the potato salad was good only because it was store brought and not made.

This is quite unlike any other restaurant I’ve been to. It’s VERY rustic, VERY old fashioned. But the food is excellent and the former owner, Mr. Tooke, is a cool guy too. If you’re in the mood for ribs, this is not a bad place at all.

I had high hopes for this small BBQ place. I ordered the rib tips and I was severely disappointed. The ribs were overcooked, hard and dry. Maybe I caught them on a bad day or maybe that’s their norm. Either way, I will not be paying my hard earned money to find out either way.

What are you looking for in BBQ? This spot was it for me. A little shack with the best smoked meats I’ve had in some time. The BBQ sauce hit perfectly with the seasoning used on the chicken, ribs and chopped pork. The sides complimented the meats just right. Then there is the Peach Cobbler….made me an instant fan, and I usually don’t do peach anything, but while in GA I couldn’t say no!

This is a small place very old on the inside and outside. The guy in the back was smoking (vaping) while making food. The food was good not great but good. The Mac and cheese could be better. The ribs were good beside my food wasn’t hot temperature wise. This place has so much potential & prices are a bit high for mediocre quality food.
