Had the avocado toast but on a Bagel. It was so good. My husband had the breakfast combo platter. He didn’t finish eating it all as it was a lot of food. Jen was such a great server and very accommodating.

My family and I were excited to visit and have missed Toojay’s. (none around us) They did not disappoint either. So many fantastic menu choices, the food comes out prepared perfectly and is as tasty as it looks. I am a huge breakfast fan and there breakfast is consistently one of the best no matter the location.

Went for solo breakfast and had the bacon egg and cheese sandwich with potatoes. It was delicious. The wait for service took a little while but it wasn’t the waiters fault, they had him covering so many tables. He was so helpful despite how busy he was.

We ordered via phone call- it took my boyfriend over 15 minutes between being put on hold multiple times and having to correct them multiple times. At the end of the call they said 15-20 minutes. After waiting over 30, we received literally nothing correct. They sent French toast with toppings (in the restaurant he specifically asked for none and was told “I mean you can just take them off right?). I also ordered the breakfast combo platter and received literally just an egg, potatoes, and a bagel. When I called the woman on the phone said *we* didn’t order right?? In the end my boyfriend had paid $30 (including tipping) for cold, unseasoned, food that wasn’t what we wanted.

Love Toojays! Very relaxed atmosphere, nobody rushing us in and out. Jen was our waitress and she was perfect. Very happy with our lunch, sat outside on the porch, and Jen treated us real well.

Party of 4, quiet morning. Very slow seating and service, barely friendly. $70 before tip.
Plain waffle, no complaints
2 eggs over hard with grilled English, well done bacon, home fries (not on the menu, flavorless). Meh according to guest.
3 eggs over easy, white toast, home fries (not on the menu). Eggs were so undercooked (and seemed like they were cooked in water because there was excessive liquid) it was like soup and completely inedible. Same flavorless home fries. Bacon was fine, toast was…toast.
Eggs Benedict with home fries and side of sausage links. Poached eggs were a bit overcooked but I was pleasantly surprised as I do prefer them overcooked but most expect a runny yoke. Hollandaise sauce seemed real (yay!!!) but firm and totally flavorless. Was it not made with real yokes and butter?! So strange I make it regularly at home and it’s so rich and delicious. Also they only gave me enough sauce to cover the egg so without a runny yoke it was so dry and difficult to eat. I asked for more but it took so long to get that everything was cold and hard. Sausage had a strange off-putting flavor, I only had one bite.
This is a Jewish deli so I’m wondering if there is a kosher cooking rule preventing some foods from having an expected outcome. They separate meats from dairy/cheese to honor cleanliness. Eggs are considered neutral but for pareve they recommend not using butter when served over meat (ham in the case of Benedict). Perhaps this is why it had no depth or flavor.
Expensive considering 3/4 orders were simple or basic, no check back from waitress to see if everything was okay, no inquiry by staff to determine why only the waffle was consumed.

The food was tasty; very NY deli style. My sandwich (Cuban Grilled Cheese) had a bit too much mustard for my taste – and all in the middle of the sandwich. The French Onion Soup was delicious. The Shepherd’s Pie was also very good, although a bit soupy. The Banana Cake was oh so good, and I was told the brownie was also very good.

Note to the cleanliness: there were crumbs on the booth seats and between the tables that were pushed together. A little more effort there will go a long way!

Overall, a delightful experience! Thank you!
