10/10 pizza and service and the owners are really kind and fun to talk to
Upon approaching the counter, I was impressed by the wide selection of pizzas on display. While waiting for my order, I engaged in a delightful conversation with one of the employees about the local area, highlighting the friendly and personable nature of the staff. When my food arrived, I was delighted to find that the pizza lived up to the high expectations set by the restaurant’s atmosphere and service. The sauce was particularly noteworthy, bursting with flavor and adding an extra dimension to each bite.
I opted for a slice of veggie and Hawaiian pizza, both of which were incredibly tasty and satisfying. As someone who recently moved back to the area, I’m grateful to have discovered Tony’s. From the flavorful sauce to the friendly staff and inviting atmosphere, it’s clear that this establishment takes pride in providing a top-notch dining experience.
We were passing through downtown St. Pete and found Tony’s Pizza. Lucky us.
The staff was super friendly, the place was clean. Pizza came out quickly and hot. Crust was super flavorful. It’s was excellent and we’ll defiantly be back.
The only con was the lack of parking. You should kind of expect that based on the location, but it’s worth mentioning. We had to park about 2 blocks away, which really is nothing of a walk since the weather was great.
Keep up the good work!
Tony’s Pizza is not a restaurant—it’s a main event, and the headliner is getting pizza by the slice. Walk in, point at the glass like a kid at an aquarium, and boom: instant happiness. That slice comes out extra crispy on the outside, perfectly chewy on the inside, and living in that magical zone where it’s not stale, not doughy, not floppy, not sad—just straight-up pizza excellence.
This is NY-style done right. The kind of crust that crunches when you bite it, then politely follows up with a soft, chewy interior like, “Relax, I got you.” The cheese doesn’t slide off like it’s trying to escape. The sauce knows its role. The balance is immaculate. Honestly, it’s the pizza equivalent of sticking the landing at the Olympics.
And let’s talk about the menu—Tony didn’t come to play. From Meat Lovers to Forget About It (accurate name), calzones, pastas, burgers, wings, garlic knots… it’s like the United Nations of comfort food. But don’t get distracted—the slice is the star. Always has been. Always will be.
This is the kind of place where you say, “I’ll just grab one slice,” and then suddenly you’re considering dessert cannoli and questioning your self-control. No regrets. None.
If you’re on Central Ave and not stopping at Tony’s for a slice, that’s a personal choice—but it’s also a mistake.
Tony’s Pizza is a culinary enigma, and I mean that in the best way possible. How they managed to make a pizza crust that is simultaneously doughy in the middle yet crunchy thin on the outside is a mystery only rivaled by the Bermuda Triangle. It’s like they found the Holy Grail of pizza textures and decided to share it with us mere mortals. Every bite had me questioning my existence—in a good way.
I went for the Latino Connection because who doesn’t love a pizza with jalapeños, banana peppers, AND sausage? This thing brought the heat, the flavor, and the kind of spice that makes you reevaluate your life choices (again, in a good way). The Forget About It pizza is appropriately named because once you try it, you’ll forget every other pizza place in town. Sorry, Papa John, it’s over.
The menu is insane—in the best way. They’ve got wings, burgers, and even a Chicken Coza Nostra sandwich. I don’t know who Coza Nostra is, but if he’s got sandwiches like that, sign me up for his crew. And let me tell you, the garlic knots? Absolute perfection. If they’re tossing those in heaven, I’m ready to go.
But let’s not skip dessert! The tiramisu was so good, I started googling “how to marry a dessert.” If Tony’s added wedding officiants to their services, they’d make a killing.
The service was quick, the portions were massive, and the vibe was exactly what you want from a pizza joint. Crunchy, doughy, saucy, cheesy bliss. I might never eat anywhere else again. 10/10, would trade my soul for another slice of that pizza crust.
