Reviews
Our table was against a wall, which was a little uncomfortable but acceptable.
The server’s assistant Quinn took care of us very well.
The server Mimi helped us to choose an appetizer (the crab cake) which, when we tried it, was not what we were expecting.
The manager came to the table and quickly removed the dish and resolved the issue.
Our steaks were well prepared and seasoned. The side dish potatoes were good as well.
Overall a good experience – Thank you!
We arrived on time with high hopes and was not disappointed at all! From start to finish, Tony’s was amazing. The staff, the experience, the food every single detail was perfect!
We went on a Saturday night and parking was tight. Dining room when busy can be a bit loud. Open kitchen. All in all it was worth every penny and I can’t wait to go back. Well done, Tony’s!!
We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, and it was very good. My main dish was okay — nothing special. Unfortunately, my daughter’s steak came out more than medium-well; it was well-done. My wife didn’t like her meal at all and mentioned it to the server. The server tried to make light of it with a joke about there being a Popeyes up the street, which honestly wasn’t very appropriate for the moment.
We didn’t end up finishing our food, but the restaurant did refund my wife’s plate and later brought out a small Belgian cake for our anniversary, which was a kind gesture.
Overall, service started off nice, but the food and the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations for a special occasion.
The staff is great. Always friendly and attentive.
The food is always top notch and if something is not right they work really hard to make it right. The crab cakes are the best I’ve ever had and the steaks are always great.
We’ve been coming for 10 years and it has never disappointed.
I’ll definitely come back. Maybe I’ll sit at a table this next time. I was at a bar table.
Ordered apps and the fired calamari was the best I have had… tender and lightly battered to a crisp. These were perfectly seasoned. Also ordered a crab cake and was pleasantly surprised with the size and how meaty it was but a bit disappointed because it lacked flavor- could have used some lite old bay or seafood seasoning.
Now on to the entrees… I ordered the surf and turf special. My selection was a center cut filet with 2 dice scallops that came with the oats mushroom risotto, asparagus with a side Caesar salad. I was so ready to cut into that filet that I ordered medium to medium well and just knew that I wouldn’t need a steak knife to cut it… at Jeff Ruby I literally
Only use my fork to cut! Weeelllll… not at at Tony’s- get your steak knife ready because I had never needed to work this hard cutting a filet. Not only was it hard to cut, but difficult to chew and swallow. It was dry. I felt like I was trying to eat a chuck roast that had not cooked to tenderism. I was so disappointed. The seasoning on the steak was good, I just couldn’t enjoy it because it was tough and dry. I also ordered a side of the scalloped potatoes(potato au gratin) and it was so dry. I was expecting it to be nice and creamy but that wasn’t the case. I didn’t like the texture of the oats in the risotto and it lacked flavor and the Caesar dressing lacked flavor too. I found out that the anchovies aren’t included in the dressing and that may be why it lacked the flavor that I was looking for. I asked for sliced red onions added salt/ cracked black pepper to make it work.
The raspberry lemon drop was divine but cost way too much- p.s. don’t replace the well tequila with Don Anjeo… you’re better off buying a bottle.
The service was meh! All the servers who approached our table seemed to have an air about them. When we engaged with them they would make a comment while leaving the table. It just felt weird.
At the end, the waitress asked if we were having dessert and I asked but I could see the menu to earn what was available and the waitress responded that she was the dessert… I was taken back from that comment because it lacked professionalism! My response to her was that she wasn’t the kind of dessert that I was looking for and that seemed to sum up my first experience at Tony’s.
My friends had their own challenges with their first experience, but I’ll let them give their own review if they would like.
Didn’t deliver to the hype!
