We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Tonno’s new upstairs space. We worked with Olivia and she was very helpful in organizing everything. All we had to do was decide on the food and minor details, she handled everything else including setting up the flowers we dropped off. They were flexible with a few of the additional requests we had. The waitstaff was very attentive and the newly renovated space had the perfect vibe for our event. All the guests loved the food and drinks, we would host again here in a heartbeat!

We were greeted with a smile and upbeat attitude and we were asked if our table was to our satisfaction. Our waiter Ezio was very knowledgeable about the menu and fully explained all the dishes we were interested in. The Shrimp appetizer he recommended was amazing! The pasta was fresh and the sausage was delicious. The risotto was cheesy and delicate with fresh asparagus. Wish we had room for dessert. Cappuccino and expresso were spot on . Give it a try!

I have always loved Tonno’s. Its a big part of our family and it has always been a great experience until yesterday. That is why it was so much of a surprise and after seeing how everything was handled our views have vastly changed. We looked past the rude interaction about showing up 20 minutes early for a reservation because we were happy to get a drink at the bar while we waited, we just wanted to get parking. Our server was great to start when a drink was not good, she hapilly brought something different. It got much worse from there. One meal was very incorrect and another dish was completely missing from the table. When this was brought to the staffs’ attention they offered to bring the missing dish packaged to-go and I told them I could bring the other dish home at that point to take the time myself to cook it accordingly since everyone else in the party finished eating already and I wasn’t going to make them wait after it took so long to even have an opportunity to tell the staff it was wrong even after numerous times trying to flag them down. I was insanely disappointed to see both dishes still on the bill thinking one might be removed for the gross inaccuracies. They asked if I wanted to speak to management and I said I would. When our server returned, instead of a manager, she had a tiny bag of pre-made to go drinks as a resolution saying it was the best she could do. While I understand that was true for her personally, it was not true for management. I will not be returning, and we will happily bring our business to the other amazing restaurants in Gloucester and recommend you do as well.

Had a great meal and experience! We ordered the olives and half dozen oysters for starters. Had the ribeye and it was delicious! Cooked perfectly medium rare and so flavorful. Also the veal was very tasty too. Highly recommend and I will be going back for sure!

Everything we get here has been fantastic. We first discovered this restaurant the day we got legally married, then we asked them to cater our wedding and we’ve frequently either taken friends or have ordered delivery when people are in town. Everyone we’ve experienced Tonno with has also been super impressed.
The staff is always very attentive and super kind.
Never disappointed in anything we’ve ever had. The restaurant is nice without being stuffy-nice and they have a nice outdoor area when the weather is right for it. They always have their own parking lot!

I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had at Tonno. From our amazing server, Lyndsey, who sat us by the cozy fire on a frigid Monday evening, to the delicious drinks, to the incredible food — the entire evening was a 10 out of 10! My husband and I headed to Cape Ann from CT to celebrate my 60th birthday in early February. Tonno was his lucky find, for sure. We will definitely make a trip to the area again specifically to visit Tonno. If there were more than five stars, I would certainly give them here.

Tonno was great. We ordered the Caesar salad, mushroom risotto, and mussels for starters. Everything was flavorful and delicious. For mains we had the bolognese and Sunday sauce. The Sunday sauce was rich and the meatballs were perfect. The bolognese was much different than others I’ve had, unfortunately not one of my favorites. However the homemade pasta was very good. Our server was attentive and welcoming.

Tonno is an absolute must if you are in Gloucester. Atmosphere is cozy and the food really is incredible, better than any North End dinner we have had. We enjoyed the fresh mozzarella and prosciutto to start. Husband had the chicken parm, it was a perfect portion and absolutely delicious. Lobster ravilio was so fresh and filled with so much lobster it was truly the best I have ever had. Finished the night with pistachio martini and tiramisu.

We attended a wedding there lastnight and it was pure magic ! I didn’t know they offered this but I am so happy they do! The moment we walked in it was magical. Every detail was perfect. The atmosphere, every detail on the table like the roses, glitter & candles everything was so special. The food of course was perfection! You have incredible and kind waitstaff. Our server was attentive and she made us feel special even with such a large group. If you are looking for an intimate and special place for a wedding this is your place ! Thank you for making my friend (the bride) feel so special and loved !
