Outstanding Tonkotsu Ramen in Raleigh!
I had the Tonkotsu ramen at Ton Noodles and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced — full of deep flavor without being overpowering. ✨
The pork was exceptionally tender, literally melting in my mouth, and the noodles had that ideal bite that true ramen lovers appreciate. Every component worked together perfectly, and the portion was filling without feeling heavy.
On top of that, the price was very reasonable for the quality and portion size. ✅ This is easily one of the best ramen spots in Raleigh, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, comforting ramen!
Ton Noodles – Raleigh, NC
Food was hot and looked appetizing…we both ordered the Japanese fried pork with rice served with Japanese curry, something we both grew up eating, as our mom made it, and I have made it many a time over the years.
Its probably a bit unfair to compare Ton Noodle’s against authentic Japanese curry, but in all honesty, it pales in comparison. Their curry is thin and very “”watered down” without the rich delicious flavors of real Japanese curry. As well the rice used is not very good quality.
While the average person will likely think its very good, which is fine, we were disappointed. Given this, we won’t be back to try their ramen or udon as the broth for these dishes take time and good quality ingredients to make an excellent broth. Having had this in Japan too, we’d more than likely be disappointed.
Overall, its not a bad restaurant at all, we just had the opportunity to experience authentic dishes in Japan and from our mother, so we have a biased opinion.
We don’t discourage anyone from going there to eat, as you may love their food like many others who have reviewed this restaurant. Its just not for us.
On top of the +4 upcharge for the rice noodles which were incredibly overcooked, my fiancée’s potatoes in their pork Tonkotsu were straight up raw- couldn’t even get the chopstick through them.
The quality has gone down the past few months, even though they recently did a price increase as well which was still worth it because I genuinely enjoyed this place but after today I think I will pass.
I appreciated how thoughtfully the food was packed—the noodles were kept separate from the broth, ensuring they stayed fresh and didn’t get soggy. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference!
The food itself was delicious and absolutely perfect for a rainy day. I’ll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend.
