My buddy and I had just come backpacking off of mile 16 at Lake Chicot And we were totally whooped. We ask the park ranger where to get the best burger and fried chicken in the area because we were absolutely starving. Tom’s did not let us down! I didn’t just get a burger, I didn’t just get chicken, I got both and I got the rice dressing to boot. Walking in it smelled like your grandparent’s house when they’re cooking on a Sunday afternoon. The smell of the kind of food that puts you to sleep for a deep afternoon nap.
Great customer service at the counter. Very friendly, very quick. Everything was fresh and hot and crisp. I’m definitely going back with my wife and kids when we pass through.

If you are in the Ville Platte area, do not leave without a visit to Tom’s Fried Chicken, Bayou Chicot, just outside Ville Platte. The fried chicken, onion rings and fries were delicious. Service friendly and helpful. They have 3 dining tables inside if you wish to eat in. Cozy.

I can’t say enough about the lil hole in the woods restaurant…. The food is amazing & very friendly ppl. Fried pickles & fried chicken r the bomb!! If u haven’t try u it’s a must u find it in the woods of bayou chicot/turkey Creek area. U won’t be let down & worth ur time to drive there!

If you find yourself off of the beaten path and need a place for refreshments and some.great lunch or supper this is the stop to make. If you have a few minutes extra and are on I-49 North or South take the St.Landry exit and head West until you get to the stopping in Bayou Chicot. The restaurant is on your right at the stop sign. The swamp burger is hands down in the top burgers I’ve tasted. The fried chicken is delicious, not greasy. Their menu is pretty extensive given there are 2 tables inside and a drive thru. I will definitely be a return customer.
