While I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at Tom’s Fish and Chips, the experience didn’t quite match the price. The food felt a bit overrated, especially since the fries and fried fish were both lacking that hot, crunchy texture. The fresh fish fillets were a plus, but overall, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

Tom’s Fish & Chips is always a must stop when passing through Cannon Beach. I first tired it back in 2019 and again the summer of 2025. Both times had the Fish Tacos, Fried Clam Strips and Chips (fries). Same as I remember it and hella good both times.
Definitely would recommend others to stop by and get an order of their fish tacos!

Really good fish and chips. Their house Tartar sauce was my favorite thing. Their fish super fresh, their batter just needed a bit more salt. This was a perfect spot to relax and eat a delicious snack after a long and beautiful beach walk.

I’ve been there twice and absolutely love the service, the food and the atmosphere. You can sit outside which is very nice! We got excellent recommendations for what kind of meal/fish we wanted. The blackened salmon was veryy delicious!!

Tom’s is our favorite place to lunch on the coast! Excellent service, delicious food, clean restaurant and bathrooms! Shawn is very kind and attentive, he was patient with our group and we were all super happy with the experience. The grilled cod fish and chips were PERFECTLY cooked, we truly enjoyed everything we ordered. I was impressed with the salmon option and found it to taste as excellent as the cod. The clam chowder is superb. The chicken tenders were a huge portion and delicious! I will be proudly sporting my new Tom’s Fish & Chips shirt and highly recommend this place to all! Thank you Shawn and crew for always giving us a the best meals with top notch service!

My first time here and I’m a new fan! The salmon & chips were hot and perfect. The generous-sized salmon wasn’t overcooked, and the batter was super crispy. I eat a lot of fish & chips in Seattle so I know casual delicious seafood. These guys are doing it right! On a busy Saturday in August (thanks to 100F inland) the service was fast and all the guys were attentive. Thanks for providing the best beach picnic dinner! I hope to be back soon!

The fries were good. The fried shrimp was ok if a bit small of a serving for the price. The Halibut was awful unfortunately. It was overcooked and burnt and very dry. Not much of a complainer but 2 small pieces for what we paid was a very poor effort. I would not have let the food come out like it was. I hope others have a better experience than we did.

Just ate here today. Got fish tacos and halibut fish and chips. The only way it could have been worse is if it was soggy. (The fries were) halibut had clearly been frozen. Although they don’t claim fresh one might expect it being on the coast. I’ve had a lot of fish and chips in my life and this was easily the worst I’ve ever had. Fish tacos come from a pre made cod as well. We asked to sub halibut for the tacos and were told no. “The cod is already seasoned” we ordered our meal to go and were given no napkins or silverware. All the food seemed like it had been previously frozen and reheated. Not sure how this place got so many good reviews. There are MUCH better places to eat in Cannon Beach. I’d be embarrassed to sell food like this.

The food was just ok. The fish and chips were ordinary. The clam chowder was nice, but a bowl sized portion is quite small. The chowder could use some herbs like dill or thyme.
The owner was very friendly and chatty.
Inside and outside seating was clean and vast.
I’m not sure if we’ll be back again as Cannon Beach has many food options.

I highly recommend Tom’s at Cannon beach! It’s not just fish (although it was really good) it is also burgers, salads and chowder. I had both the cod and a cheeseburger (at different times… lol). Both were great! Price was decent compared to the other places. All around great place!
