Absolutely love Tomokazu! Every dish is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The sashimi is top quality, and the rolls are always creative and delicious. The beef short rib and shioyaki saba were also amazing, even though I didn’t get a photo! The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and this place never disappoints. One of the best Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area! ✨

I had dinner at Tomokazu and it was so good. The sashimi was super fresh and cut nice and thick, especially the salmon and tuna. We tried a few different rolls and the mango roll was my favorite. The lamb chops were tender and not gamey at all, the wings were tasty, and the chawanmushi was hands down the best part. Everything was delicious and I would definitely come back again. The food was so good that I completely forgot to take photos, so the only picture I have is of the sashimi lol

Fresh sushi and great service. Best sushi in the area! Highly recommend the sashimi and 49er roll. Sometimes the restaurant can be a little cold and a bit noisy, but nothing that would stop us from going

We are big fans of Tomokazu. Their sushi is always fresh, though sometimes the food prep can seem a little rushed. Their soup udon comes in a massive clay pot and is chock full of noodles, meat or chicken, tofu, shiitake mushrooms, and napa cabbage. The dish is huge and perhaps one of the best value items on the menu.

The service is solid and always very friendly. A great spot for Japanese cuisine in the Burlingame/Peninsula area!

I have known this place for over 25 years. It’s always my favorite Japanese restaurant in the Peninsula area. The price is high but competitive with all other Japanese restaurants around. Service is very good. Too bad they are going to stop lunch service starting September 1st, 2020.

Very good menu with a nice variety of choices and the quality of the food is great. Nice presentation of sushi and bento box meal. Slightly on the higher priced side, but it is worth it.

Very impressed with the sanitary and safety measures, staff wearing masks and gloves, sanitizer available, and outdoor tables very clean.

This place is not for me, but I don’t want to write a negative review because the staff were soooo nice.

I tried the beef udon, the portion is huge but the quality of ingredient is just very mediocre. This place is affordable for a reason. The soup is just soy sauce flavored, and the beef is just so hard to chew. They use cabbage as the veggie which is another affordable ingredient that will fill you up. Even tho the staff were so nice, the food is just hard to swallow….

Overall, I would recommend cutting the portion in half and use better ingredients.

Cute place.
We got the 4 seasons which was ok, the pork cutlet which was good and large portion, the chicken karaage which I though was just ok and the edamame which was good.

Really loved the fresh steamed butter crab. The owner used the remaining uneaten pieces and juices to make your choice of udon noodle soup or rice porridge, we chose the rice porridge. They also have fresh lobster sashimi. They make their own ice cream. If you’ve never tried jasmine ice cream before and you appreciate subtle fragrant flavors, I recommend trying the jasmine ice cream.
