We had a wonderful dinner tonight at Tomodachi Sushi in The Vineyards at Porter Ranch. It was just a quick five-minute walk from our hotel and tucked into a cute little shopping center area. We chose to dine outside on the patio, which was perfect.
Our server Jess was so cute and awesome—she helped us decide what to order and gave excellent recommendations. We started with the extra spicy garlic edamame (absolutely delicious!) along with a glass of wine and the plum sake, which Jess recommended. The sake was warm, smooth, and one of our favorites of the night.
For dinner, I had the Mexican Roll for that extra bit of spice, while my partner tried the Tamago sushi and was pleasantly surprised by the slightly sweet egg layered over rice. Both dishes were excellent.
Overall, it was a perfect and enjoyable evening. Highly recommend Tomodachi Sushi to anyone visiting the Porter Ranch area!

I feel sorry for this place. They spent so much to make such a great place (ambience location) but the food is worst I’ve had. We asked for their best sushi rolls and both were buffet quality. Very disappointed. I’m giving 2 stars just for ambience. If you are charging premium, we expect food to be really good made by an experience chef. I don’t think I’ll come back to this place again. Although, I hope they fix it and if I hear good reviews I’ll come back to try. There are not many sushi places in Porter Ranch.

This Sushi restaurant was delicious. Service was excellent, food was very fresh, tasteful & prices were fair. It was our first time here. We were not too sure what to expect because of the criticism on some of the reviews. But, one thing I will say is “Try for yourself & you be the judge. We did and we were not disappointed”. “Roman” was our server & he was awesome he went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. We had the Shishito peppers & Edamame & they were very tasty. We had the Albacore Delight, Alaskan Roll & the Baked Dynamite Roll which were all favorites. We ate so much, I almost forgot to take pictures. All was delicious. We will definitely be back to try more of your delicious Sushi. Thank You Roman for the great Service.

Amazing sushi, beautiful minimalist atmosphere, great service. Eel nigiri, spicy tuna roll, salmon belly nigiri, sashimi boat, everything was such great quality and so yummy. All of the servers were so kind. Definitely will come back! The chefs even made us a salmon roll on the house at the end of our dinner❤️

First time eating here, was discouraged by the long wait at Finneys so we checked Tomodachi, which had some tables available. The selection of rolls, sashimi, and other favorites was extensive. The speed of service was impressive. We had our food within 10 mins. Would recommend requesting that the food is brought to the table in a particular order if you don’t want it all at once. The serving sizes were generous and well presented as you would normally expect at a Sushi restaurant.

My husband has dietary restrictions. Kevin went above and beyond to make sure the foods we ordered were safe for him to consume. The food was very tasty with beautiful presentation.
UPDATE: We have been here a few times since this place opened and unfortunately the service is almost none existent. I’m not sure if the owner is trying to save money, but he needs to train his staff adequately or hire more competent people. We waited so long to have our orders taken, then the server goes to get the order of people who came after us. This place was not even busy at the time. What a shame! Never coming back here because this was not the 1st time. If a restaurant can’t get it together with their service then forget about the rest.
