The sushi was probably the freshest fish I’ve had in PHL so far: the classic rolls, like alaska and Philly roll were simple but also flavorful. The margarita had a nice bright flavor from the lime on top, and the bugz roll had a nice variety of texture and was super tasty as well,
The restaurant has a nice, modern look with wooden details- the space feels super open for how small it is. Its also located right in old city which is a gorgeous part of Philly.
Overall, I would definitely return and reccomend this place to any friends or family coming to town!
Needless to say, it was absolutely amazing. The vegan Ramen was so flavorful, full of fresh vegetables and mushrooms. Also, the sushi rolls were very creative and yummy.
We would recommend this place, definitely!
Required spot for vegetarians and vegans! It was that game changing…Gone are the days of just accepting a cucumber/avocado roll….this place had a whole vegan roll section with unique options that has all the textures and flavors! I can’t wait to go back to get the veggie fire roll and to try more rolls off the menu.
Also must get the veggie buns! The miso ramen was good too, but the sushi and buns were the highlights for me
This place is BYOB and we’re so help and accommodating. We brought two bottles of white wine for the group and they offered to keep the other one chilled until we were ready for it. Also brought out wine glasses and opened the bottle for us.
We came on a Friday night and the restaurant was quaint and cozy. Water was given to us immediately, but no server came over to us for 20 minutes. We had to flag someone down. Also, menus are all via QR code.
We started with the pork buns. These were a miss. The bao was sticky and got stuck to my teeth immediately, so I couldn’t enjoy the other ingredients. I also wasn’t a fan of the lettuce they put on it, it was too much and took away from the other flavors.
For sushi, we got the Tomo and Kaizen. The Kaizen was outstanding – cooked and raw salmon plus the furikake offered a great texture. The unagi sauce was rich and savory. The Tomo was good as well, the seared tuna on top was yummy. I wouldn’t order it again though, it didn’t stand out as great and I prefer more unique specialty rolls.
We also got the udon, which was cooked perfectly. Thick, soft and bouncy. The broth wasn’t as umami as I would have liked, but overall it was still a good bowl.
Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the service, but most of the food was good. I could see myself coming back here in the future to try more of their specialty rolls and different appetizers. I’m just not running to do so.
Service was very fast & staff was pleasant.
