I feel like I should start with service: I had my birthday dinner here with a large party (7) and they were SO accommodating. They allowed a cake to be delivered ahead of time, were super communicative, gave the table great recommendations, and made sure I had a great birthday dinner. They also took the time to melt the candles to the cake platter, even though the cake isn’t from the restaurant which was so sweet. Special shoutout to Truong N for going above and beyond to take care of us.

The sushi was probably the freshest fish I’ve had in PHL so far: the classic rolls, like alaska and Philly roll were simple but also flavorful. The margarita had a nice bright flavor from the lime on top, and the bugz roll had a nice variety of texture and was super tasty as well,

The restaurant has a nice, modern look with wooden details- the space feels super open for how small it is. Its also located right in old city which is a gorgeous part of Philly.

Overall, I would definitely return and reccomend this place to any friends or family coming to town!

We came to Philly for a concert and we were looking for somewhat fast vegan food options! We found this place and ordered two veggie ramen’s and vegan sushi rolls!

Needless to say, it was absolutely amazing. The vegan Ramen was so flavorful, full of fresh vegetables and mushrooms. Also, the sushi rolls were very creative and yummy.

We would recommend this place, definitely!

A good neighborhood spot; we were able to do a walk in! The specialty rolls section is definitely the place to go! Sushi came out super quick! Very tasty sushi, the rice and fish were both fresh! The garlic ramen was wicked tasty, they had asked if I wanted spicy and I said yes, but it wasn’t very spicy, would have preferred them to give me chili oil so that I could have dosed it myself. Unfortunately, the server was no where to be found when I was eating the ramen and wanting more chili oil; nonetheless, the broth was incredibly savory, the noodles were perfectly thin and a heavy portion! The egg was perhaps a bit overcooked, but otherwise went well with the dish! Great spot to visit and seems like they do quite a bit of take out as well!

Vegetarian perspective

Required spot for vegetarians and vegans! It was that game changing…Gone are the days of just accepting a cucumber/avocado roll….this place had a whole vegan roll section with unique options that has all the textures and flavors! I can’t wait to go back to get the veggie fire roll and to try more rolls off the menu.

Also must get the veggie buns! The miso ramen was good too, but the sushi and buns were the highlights for me

This place is BYOB and we’re so help and accommodating. We brought two bottles of white wine for the group and they offered to keep the other one chilled until we were ready for it. Also brought out wine glasses and opened the bottle for us.

Our family of 3 had dinner here after a children’s show at the Arden’s theater. Our 6-yo found favorites on the menu, and us parents really enjoyed the chirashi and specialty rolls. The Udon was great too. The staff were busy but still gave great service and were very accommodating of a child. The atmosphere is modern but cozy, though it does get a little loud on. Saturday night. We’ll definitely be back!

Tomo Sushi & Ramen is a solid BYOB Old City sushi spot!

We came on a Friday night and the restaurant was quaint and cozy. Water was given to us immediately, but no server came over to us for 20 minutes. We had to flag someone down. Also, menus are all via QR code.

We started with the pork buns. These were a miss. The bao was sticky and got stuck to my teeth immediately, so I couldn’t enjoy the other ingredients. I also wasn’t a fan of the lettuce they put on it, it was too much and took away from the other flavors.

For sushi, we got the Tomo and Kaizen. The Kaizen was outstanding – cooked and raw salmon plus the furikake offered a great texture. The unagi sauce was rich and savory. The Tomo was good as well, the seared tuna on top was yummy. I wouldn’t order it again though, it didn’t stand out as great and I prefer more unique specialty rolls.

We also got the udon, which was cooked perfectly. Thick, soft and bouncy. The broth wasn’t as umami as I would have liked, but overall it was still a good bowl.

Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the service, but most of the food was good. I could see myself coming back here in the future to try more of their specialty rolls and different appetizers. I’m just not running to do so.

Great little ramen shop in Center City! The egg & pork was marinated very nicely and the tonkatzu broth was super flavorful. A nice meal for the cold weather but I’d eat ramen any time of year.

Service was very fast & staff was pleasant.

Very fresh and tasty sushi! Make sure to try their spicy mayo on the side with the sushi!! A bit cramped inside for sitting down but they now have a second side where there are more private booths. Would not recommend sitting at the 2 persons sitting arrangements. But other than that, amazing food and service!

Tried this cozy spot for the first time in September 2025 and had a great experience. The servers are detailed and thorough, the food comes out SUPER quick and is delish! Would def recommend for a pre-show meal at the Arden or FringeArts.
