Used to be the best Mexican food in Novato but no longer even palatable. Ordered a fajita burrito special from DoorDash for $19. It lists all these ingredients like guac, salsa, cheese, sour cream, tofu, peppers etc. instead it’s literally just dry black beans and rice with some tofu. No flavor, and none of the listed ingredients. I never do this but it was so dry that I threw it out.

a family favorite and regular go to. today the meal was exceptional and the horchata was a real treat. we’ve been coming here for years if not decades and will keep coming as the food is so fresh and the salsas are very flavorful and perfect spice levels. ♡wayne

I’ve been here many times over the years for their tacos and burritos but never for breakfast. What a mistake. The best Mexican breakfast in town!! The Huevos Motoleños and the Huevos Rancheros were OMG

Two steak burritos to go with a 30 min. Lunch break. Returned to the jobsite to cold burritos and no time to return them. Owner called to tell me to return following day for a refund. Next day told me her cook said they were hot when served. I had my co worker whom had the second one and he confirmed to her they were less than room temp when we sat down to eat them. She said she was sorry and refused to offer refund. Will not be returning.

The best quesabirria we have had. I have tried the quesabirria from many places and this was by far the best one I’ve had. Highly recommend!

Solid food. We got the steak chimichanga and steak quesadilla. Nothing mind-blowing but tasty and satisfying. Chips are above average too.
The bean dip was a standout and takes the food from 4 stars to 5.
Will be back to explore more of the menu and to stray from the tortilla, meat, rice permutations.

This is a great spot to take the family or friends. They have a nice range of homemade salsa’s but what really set’s this place apart from the rest is their Al Pastor. Most places can’t do it right but they nail it! Another indicator is their beans and rice and they do a good job of that too!
Edit: 2021. It seems that there has been some minor changes to the dishes. It doesn’t quite have the flavor it used to have but it is still a good go-to and the outdoor seating is nice in these times. They also had to shut down the salsa bar. You can get little plastic small servings of their salsa though. The owners are really nice people and support the community through donations and fundraisers. I will still take my family here whenever possible.

I’ve only been going to the food truck but man their carne asada super burritos are fantastic, especially with their absolute fire habanero salsa.

I’ve eaten at Tommy’s Salsa a handful of times and never been disappointed. You can tell the food is made with fresh ingredients and their salsa selection is awesome. The food always comes out fast and the staff is extremely friendly. I work in Novato twice a week and this has become a staple for my lunch breaks.

Not good. A $20 “Steak Bronto Burrito” which was literally 95% rice and I couldn’t find the steak…or the Bronto for that matter. This was my third attempt to make this place work for me and it doesn’t. Slow service, too expensive and conceptual shortcomings concerning proportionality. Suspect the positive reviews are a function of the lacking alternatives in the area where, shockingly, the Mexican food sucks. Btw, we’re still combating the stench of the shrimp bowl my wife ordered and smelled like a dumpster in a hot alley behind a Vegas casino. Yeah, that sucked too.
