My wife and I took a trip to Lincolnton NC to go consignment shopping and eat at some of the local restaurants. We stopped in at Tommy’s Drive -In for a quick lunch . I ordered two hotdogs all the way and a fry and my wife had a hamburger. We enjoyed our meal and they even let us try homemade pigskins ! They were delicious ! Our waitress was so nice and helpful! We definitely will stop in again when we are in the area .

our food was so good, fresh and seasoned just right. Hubby tried my food and vice versa; we both agreed that the cook did an excellent job. Flounder crispy but not hard; tender, meaty, and juicy. Best homemade tartar sauce. I dipped my fries, hushpuppies, and fish in it. The hushpuppies were soft inside and cooked to perfection. Finely grated cole slaw(fresh) not store bought. BBQ is so tender that it melts in your mouth and crinkle fries properly cooked and not salty like some places. Fried okra lightly breaded and not fried hard. Literally took me back to my childhood and how my Mama used to cook. Love how they put and in the cherry lemon Sundrop. we are excited to try something different on our next visit. Thank you for a lovely meal.☺️

Excellent!!!! I absolutely love this place I love their food and I never leave unhappy with what I get. Yeah, it’s like a trucker type stop but I actually like it. And they serve my favorite drink ! Cheerwine. !!! Burgers are great ! Chilli, mustard and slaw ? And homemade fries along with fried okra !? Who can resist that ?

The updates to the restaurant are looking amazing! The new style and 50s music really set the mood and give it that diner/drive in feel. I had Alexis as my waitress and she did amazing, she was attentive and happy to give us information about the new owner and the changes happening. It was overall an amazing dinner experience with delicious, hot food and friendly, family-like service.

Travelling through, pulled in during a heavy rain storm. Took me a minute to find a jacket but Lisa came out to take my order with an umbrella and pen & pad in hand. Got the ultimate grilled cheese burger and was NOT disappointed. 10/10 highly recommend

Very disappointed in our experience here. Our family (Hispanics who have lived here our whole lives…Legal Citizens) ordered and waited over an hour, only to watch another family who came in after us (and happened to be white) get their food served with no issues. Meanwhile, the biracial family seated before us also had problems with their order.
When we decided to leave, all we got was a flat “sorry” — no explanation, no effort to make it right. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, so there’s no excuse.
It’s frustrating to spend our time and money only to feel like some customers are treated with more care than others. They missed out on a $60 bill, and we left feeling unwelcome. Money has no color — and businesses should treat all families with equal respect.
EDIT/ UPDATE: The owner kindly reached out to us after this review and explained the situation. It wasn’t directly her fault, and she was very caring and responsive in addressing our concerns. We truly appreciate her taking the time to listen and give us hope to give this place another try. Thank you for showing genuine care, that means a lot.

Excellent food and service! It’s just off of 321 and 85 in an unassuming building, but it did not disappoint. The burgers were fresh and tasty, the fried pickles were perfect, and the portions were big. Great service has been hard to come by, but Samantha provided exceptional service to us. I don’t think our tea glasses got more than 1/4 down before she refilled throughout our meal. I would highly recommend skipping the typical in fast food places around, and visit this place!

Passing thru and saw this place with my name so of course I had to stop. Sadly the food I got was awful. Frozen, flat fish planks, mushy hush puppies and equally bad homemade coleslaw. I love to support small businesses and the help was very friendly especially when I told them it was my first visit. But the food was not desirable. I’d go again because they were so nice.aybe they had a bad day or I ordered the wrong item. The milkshake was good.

Tommy’s is a working person’s place, there are no frills, just good food for a decent price. I was disappointed when my first 2 choices(Rueben and Livermash) were not available. So I went with the old faithful, tried and true burger. The burger was good but could have used some s+p while cooking. The fries were fresh and a little greasy. The tea was just the way I like it, sweet and cold. All in all, I got what I paid for and I didn’t leave hungry.
The staff was very friendly, my order was taken quickly and I got my food hot and fresh. I’d go back on my next trip through.

Good food on 321 near interstate 85. Service was great and attentive. They made a fresh pot of coffee and came back with refills twice. We were even greeted with a ‘Come back to see us’ on our way out.
