Tomato Grill is ok. The prices on menu make you think it is a much nicer restaurant than it is. The food quality is similar to that of an olive gradern. Which is fine but for $90 for 2 people it’s pricey for what it is. One of the main things I found across everything here is that everything is very under seasoned which is kind of sad. The calamari was cooked very well. Like it melted in your mouth like it should but there was no salt on it so it just tasted really bland. The breading was under seasoned and make it taste like an onion ring batter. The penne sausage pasta also had a bland taste. But I will say the tomato sauce does have some flavor to it but it is on the acidic side. The seafood risotto was again a great texture on the rice like spot on. But it was so soupy with so much broth in it. It almost made it taste like chicken noodle soup that you put some seafood. In I’m pretty sure they are using a chicken stock for the risotto which is fine if it was not swimming in the broth. All the seafood in it was cooked well but tasted of chicken which makes it hard to appreciate. So it is a let down of a meal. I really wanted to like it because so.e of the hardest parts they are doing right. But the best thing here by far is the staff. They are super attentive and incredibly friendly. The staff make this place by far. I would recommend getting a reservation the place is small and can fill up. Also it is only street parking here but the garage for first and main usually has a spot and has a cut through hallway that leads out to the restaurant. Bit would i recommend this italian spot over others in hudson probably not. But it’s worth trying even if it’s over priced just go in with your expectations adjusted.

My wife and I are here for Valentine’s Day dinner. It was packed to the gills. We had to wait about 20 minutes after our reservation time, which I attribute to lingering diners.

Once seated, the service was excellent and we never felt rushed.

My wife had the wedding soup, which she said was very good, if a bit different than what she expected. She ordered a small portion, but it was a lot of soup!

We shared the goat cheese appetizer, which was amazing.

For dinner, my wife had a salad with chicken, which she said was delicious, with the chicken having a very tasty seasoning.

I had the veal Sorrentino, and it was excellent. It was a very large portion, and I could only eat half.

Overall, generous portions and service. We’re planning on returning in warmer weather.

We had a 6:30 reservation for three at The Tomato Grill (my wife, our baby in a stroller, and myself). I even added a note in the reservation about the stroller to give them a heads-up. When we arrived on time, we were told there was no table available and that it would be about a 20-minute wait. During that wait, we noticed our reservation had somehow been trimmed down to two people.

After about 40 minutes total, we were offered a high-top table right in the main walkway by the bar, restrooms, and kitchen — not exactly stroller-friendly. We declined, and were told they didn’t know when another table would be ready. We were finally seated around 7:10.

My wife spoke with the manager to calmly explain the situation, but the manager was dismissive and condescending. Instead of listening, she talked over my wife, said they were “busy,” and walked away mid-conversation. We understand being busy, but the entire point of a reservation is to have a table ready at the time reserved.

Once seated, we discovered how much they nickel and dime you. My chicken parmesan was $20 — and they wanted an extra $5.50 for pasta to go with it. My wife switched her pasta type and was charged $1 extra. The $9 side salad tasted like bagged lettuce, and they would’ve charged another $1.50 just to split it.

We originally planned to order drinks, an appetizer, and dessert, but by that point, the experience had soured the evening. The server was kind and not at fault, but everything else was a disappointment. We won’t be returning.

Absolutely fabulous experience from start to finish.

First of all, Alyssa deserves her own standing ovation. She is, without question, the best bartender. From the second you sit down, she makes you feel instantly welcome—warm, kind, and genuinely happy to be there. Her drinks are phenomenal (like, “I’ll be thinking about this later” good), perfectly made, and clearly crafted by someone who actually cares about what they’re serving. She has such a friendly presence and somehow balances being attentive without ever hovering. Truly splendid in every sense of the word.

Then there’s Alison, who was an incredible server. She made sure every single need was met before we even had to ask, checked in just the right amount, and had the most amazing personality. She’s so sweet, upbeat, and personable. She handled everything seamlessly and made the entire meal feel relaxed and enjoyable.

And finally, Chris—because not every restaurant can say this—helped me with my math homework. Yes, actually. Between bites, he stepped in and explained things clearly and patiently, and somehow made math less painful than usual. That level of kindness and willingness to help goes so far beyond what you’d ever expect, and it honestly made my night.

Between the welcoming atmosphere, outstanding service, great drinks, and unexpected academic support, this place truly stands out. It’s the kind of restaurant you leave smiling, already planning your next visit. Could not recommend it more.

Went there for dinner last week. The restaurant wasn’t very busy. Our food came out to quick. Seemed it was pre made and just warmed up. Chicken was very dry. We let our waitress know and all she said is i can go warm it up. Not sure if i wanted a $20 dish microwaved. Been here many times and was extremely disappointed. Not sure we will be back.

The shrimp dish with pesto and it was fabulous. So good I forgot to snap a Pic. It was gone before I even thought about it. There was a butternut squash soup that was tasty but was a lukewarm temp that had me wondering if I was supposed to have a cold soup vs a hot one. I asked for a small cup but got a very large portion. Great food. Great service. Will definitely return to this place when I am in town.

My girlfriend and I came here for Valentine’s Day and we were blown away. I got the chicken alfredo and it was the best pasta I’ve ever had (in giant portions, too!). We haven’t had the time to go back yet because it’s a little bit of a drive, but I think about this place so much and I’ve recommended it to almost all of my friends.

Took my gf here for lunch. I got the Fettuccini with chicken, and she got the Chicken Wrap. They were absolutely delicious. Our server, Allison, was on top of everything. Very attentive and quick. My gf and I are thinking about coming here again for dinner. Truly, a gem in Hudson.
