Tomaso’s mission statement according to their pizza box is: “MAKE GOOD PIZZA” which they accomplished although they did not make “GREAT” pizza and certainly did not make me the best pizza in Cedar Rapids. I ordered a medium Mombo Combo on Detroit Deep Dish without mushrooms. The pizza was good but clearly needed 3-4 more minutes in the oven. The dough was undercooked and towards the center of the pie it was slightly raw. I also found the green peppers and the onions to be undercooked. They did not appear to have even “sweated” in the oven as if they were microwaved and thrown on to the pizza after it was cooked. Despite all this I would have given the food a 4/5 if it were not for the price. I am fine spending $30+ on a pizza but if I do it needs to be flawless. Do yourself a favor and order from Zoey’s Pizzeria in Marion or Leonardo’s in Cedar Rapids instead.

This pizza is so unbelievably good!!! Good enough that I would drive 1.5 hours to get it. The thin crust is our favorite. The crispiness with the combination of just the right amount of chew is perfection. The sauce is delicious, and the toppings are always fresh. I wish one was closer to where we lived. This location is by far the BEST one.

Tomasos is a local favorite. We love the sauce. The Detroit style carmelized crust is phenomenal! Mombo combo or Meat lovers are amazing. Great to go, or dining in at their newer location on 1st Ave. Wife says the ladies bathroom is beautiful.
