New location located inside Mitsuwa. Solid options: curry, donburi, etc. Line was quite long since this is a new Mitsuwa but would come again once the hype …

Really great food. Tried the Chicken Katsu Curry. I have been waiting on a great Japanese Curry spot since Curry House closed in the area a few years back. This hit the spot and I will return.

We lined up at Tokyo Shokudo on Day 4 of the shops at Mitsuwa Cypress operating. We got there early on a Tuesday around 11:30. The line was not long but the wait to the cashier felt long. The menu is extensive and a bit expensive compared to stalls at Mitsuwa Costa Mesa (think Miyabi-tei or Don Don Tei).

We got a beeper and as soon as we sat down, we realized the seating area at the food court was filled with flies. Seems like the store doesn’t have any fly management.

Food came out within 15 mins and it was just ok. I liked my curry but the portion and taste of the cutlet was unimpressive.

I would probably come back but not during lunch hour. Overall it was not a great experience. Please get a handle on your flies situation. I surmised the surrounding parking lot full of trees that somehow attract flies as I saw them outside as well on a relatively cool November afternoon.

Went here on a Monday evening and the store was not crowded, service was relatively fast. The beef bowl was on point, very similar to the gyudon at Matsuya in Japan which is really hard to find stateside. We enjoyed the pork katsudon as well.

Food was good for its price but the serving was really little. Wish they’d put more meat.
