The chiclet yakitori were flavor less, chicken was hard not tender. The sauce was everywhere to the point I wore gloves to eat. The steak hibachi was over cooked when I asked for medium. The shrimp sauce had a mix of some weird flavor and not just the normal shrimp sauce. Overall I didn’t finish my food, was not impressed. This is only my opinion, may be good for others but not for me. The service was great, Eddie was nice and respectful.

My first time here, and will definitely be back. Excellent customer service, polite, gracious. Food came out quickly, as I ordered (special accommodations) and I got home and it tasted AMAZING! Would rate 10 stars if I could. Great quantity for the price, and great experience. I will continue to be a customer in hopes they grow to a second location (closer to the outlets- wink wink).

We enjoyed the Habachi combination plate with steak and chicken, carrots, and fried rice and a side of garlic noodles.
We also enjoyed a Japanese eggroll for the 1st time, and it was amazing!! Delicious food, wonderful and friendly customer service. They even talked to us about our day at Carowinds and seemed interested in how our day was going.
We’ve been back several more times since and we’re still enjoying it just as much as the 1st time.

The food is super fresh and tastes amazing! Customer service is the best you get in a 5 star sit down restaurant!! These guys honestly go out of their way to make sure you have the best quality of food, know the best way to reheat your leftovers, offer tips on how to “spice” up the shrimp sauce (trust me you absolutely want to do it!!) They make you feel like family all while having fixed you a freshly cooked meal! We had the hibachi chicken with garlic noodles! AMAZING!! Dumplings appetizer PERFECT!! And that Japanese Egg Roll!! I’m going to drive back an hour and a half just for that!! It is a MUST TRY!! Also, everyone PLEASE do NOT forget to TIP these guys! They really are something special and we need to let them know we appreciate EVERYTHING they do for Zus!!

The Hibachi Chicken plate is consistently amazing. My fiancé absolutely loved the chicken—she’s already a huge fan—and it was cooked to perfection. The meat is always tender and seasoned perfectly, but the real stars of the show for me are the sweet carrots. They have that perfect glaze and crunch that you just can’t find everywhere.
Of course, no hibachi meal is complete without the Yum Yum sauce, and theirs is elite—creamy, slightly tangy, and I basically end up putting it on everything (rice included!). The portions are generous, the service is fast, and the quality is top-notch for the price.
If you’re in the South Tryon area and want high-quality hibachi without the long wait of a sit-down steakhouse, this is the place! We’ll definitely be back.

The Japanese Egg Roll was a delightful twist on the classic. Instead of the usual wrapper, it used a soft egg roll shell, filled with a creamy crab rangoon-style filling. Drizzled with a sweet and savory sauce, it made for the perfect appetizer. Such a rich, flavorful, and satisfying must try one.
The Hibachi Salmon came with a side of rice and stir-fried vegetables. The salmon was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The veggies were well-seasoned, and the sweet glazed carrots stood out as my favorite, pairing beautifully with the rice and other vegetables.
On top of the great food, the environment was clean and neatly maintained, and the customer service was friendly and engaging from start to finish.

Tokyo Kitchen Hibachi Express is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious—the carrots are hands down the best I’ve ever had, and the Japanese Egg Roll is to die for. On top of the amazing food, the customer service was fantastic. Tai, the GM, went above and beyond to make the atmosphere welcoming and enjoyable. You can really tell he cares about his customers and his restaurant. Highly recommend stopping in—you won’t be disappointed!

I dont normally write reviews, but this place had me and my bff raving the entire time we were eating. After a 4 hour drive this hit the spot. I got the hibachi steak (rare) and it was cooked perfect. Super delicious and the perfect temp and texture. The veggies were beautiful, cooked to perfection. The carrots about made me cry they were so good. I LOVE the white sauce, I could drink this stuff!!
