I just spent $40 on steak and shrimp. Both were incredibly overcooked and incredibly small unlike a normal Japanese steakhouse with a salad was just plain lettuce with a little ramekin of ginger absolutely ridiculous. Do not waste your money on this place. I feel like I got robbed.

This place has a lot going for it, but also a few areas that could use improvement. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was the sticky table and floor, not the cleanest first impression. The water had a strange aftertaste, so I’d recommend going with something bottled or canned.
That said, service was impressively fast. Our soup and salad arrived almost immediately after we sat down, and the hibachi was served not long after that, hot and fresh. I ordered the hibachi steak medium, but the pieces were cut so small that they ended up more like medium-well. Still, the flavor was great. The vegetables were heavy on the teriyaki, which actually made them stand out more than the steak or fried rice. The rice itself was solid but could’ve used a bit more seasoning.
We also tried the Super Crunchy Roll. It lived up to the name in texture, the crunch was excellent, but the flavor was a little underwhelming. The fish wasn’t named, and the sauce didn’t deliver any of the spiciness I was expecting. Still edible, just not memorable.
The sushi did take a bit longer to come out, but our waitress was very polite and apologized for the delay. Portion sizes were solid across the board, and for $44 (with tip), I felt like we got a fair deal, especially if you plan to split the hibachi and a roll with someone else. You’ll have enough for two meals.
Despite a few quirks, I genuinely enjoyed the meal. The speed of service is a major plus, and the quiet atmosphere, no loud music or TV noise, was a refreshing change. With a few tweaks, this place could really shine.

I must start by saying this is a review for TO GO. We have been in person so many times and it is always fabulous at the grill, but ordering to go seems like it is a completely different restaurant. The food is actually unbearable to eat. So, go in person if you must. DO NOT order to go.

Not much food for the exorbitant prices paid. Wife’s meal was very salty. What was delivered to her wasn’t what she ordered. Someone came over to explain that it was. My wife is Oriental and knows the difference. As for the service, we never saw the waitress again until we were almost finished as she was preoccupied with the Hibatchi side. My recommendation is to stick with the local food trucks as you get more better tasting food and cheaper.

Food is very bland, I ordered chicken hibachi and they teriyaki sauce is bland. All the sauces tasted watered down. Very little seasoning, I had to add salt and pepper. Crab ragoons were thin and no flavor. The sashimi tamago was good, but that was about it for me.

Oh boy, where do I begin?
My wife and I ordered some apettizers, some sushi, and a bento box (teriyaki chicken) for carry out. We spent over $50 on this meal so we were expecting decent food. Long story short we were very disappointed.
Spring rolls: very little filling, mostly wrapper. Not much flavor at all unsurprisingly.
Crab rangoons: again, fairly small. Semi sweet which was okay but had a weird bitter aftertaste, not sure where that was from.
Tempura shrimp: was pretty good, no complaints.
The salads we got were wilty and sad looking. I usually eat salad but I skipped this one, it didn’t look appetizing.
My chicken teriyaki was super bland and chewy. I only ate a few pieces but couldn’t get past the texture and the flavor wasn’t good enough to warrant eating it.
The sushi was hit or miss. The California roll I got with my bento was fine. Of the sushi we got on the side: One roll was bland and weirdly chewy but the cooked roll was decent.
Oh, and one of the sauce cups was under pressure when I opened it (noticeable pop when opened) and smelled horrible. I think it might have been tomato based because it smelled like a rotten tomato. We threw that out.
Overall I’m extremely disappointed in this place and won’t be coming back, especially for the price.

It was nicely decorated. The food was bland. The salad dressings were watered down. The table was dirty and there was rice left from the previous customers. Our waitress was friendly and really nice. We did get plenty of crazy looks from the other patrons, I guess it was because We were the only people of color there. Will not ever go back

Excellent food. John was our chef and he did an amazing job, food was perfectly cooked. He was very attentive and made sure to cook all seafood last for my allergy, unlike many places that cook it on the side cross contaminating with the spatula, so I was highly impressed with that. Ren, our server, was amazing and did a great job ensuring our drinks were full and our order was perfect. Military discount offered. Family friendly. Great atmosphere. Fantastic Yum Yum sauce. Soup, salad, and gyoza was perfectly seasoned. Rolls were excellent and reasonably priced. The steak was absolutely to die for… 10/10 will be returning again.

I love their honey chicken dish, however its only served on the childrens menu. I agree with other reviews in the regard the prices are high even just for dining in with out the hibachi. My kids love the restaurant which is the main reason I go. The Hibachi experiance is a usually always our best time.

We had a blast getting hibachi at Tokyo! It was our first time and it was fantastic! We went for lunch as a family on Valentine’s Day and had the whole hibachi side to ourselves. The chef put on a great show, the portions were huge, and the food was so good!
